The ink pads are not washable. You have to replace them.
Then log on to epson.com/ipr to get the ink pad reset software. The software runs only on win vista and xp.

When I turn printer on power light does not light and ink out and paper feed light flash alt slowely

alternating flashing lights on ink and paper could mean that your printer is locked The cause waste ink pads are full Option should be to take the printer to your nearest Service centre and have it diagnosed and new ink pads fitted cost between £50 to £60
Or you could remove the waste ink pads yourself and replace them or wash them out dry them using a hairdryer etc and replace them you will then need to have your prnter reset

What you will need is a service manual for your printer model, and a restet utility you can get the reset utility free of charge from the internet

May I suggest that once you have done this you consider getting an external waste ink jit and fit it
no more stripping the printer and messing with ink pads it only takes five minutes to fit and is very easy to empty

Waste ink absorber is almost full. How do you empty or replace the waste ink absorber? The printer will no longer print.

if this happens, just turn off the printer plug, then hold the reset\stop button, after that you turn on the plug while pressing the stop reset button, then follow these steps

To reset waste ink counter:
Press Menu-Scan-Copy-Scan to enter service menu.
Use arrow keys to scroll to “Service menu counter access”.
Press OK.
Use arrow keys to scroll to “ABS-M DOT COUNT”
Press Copy.
Use arrow keys to reset count to zero.
Press OK.
Press Stop/Reset.

(optional)

To clean physical pads:
Open cover (as if replacing ink cartridge).
Locate waste ink pads, they are far right under cartridge slider.
Pry up waste ink pads (inky, might want to wear gloves).
Rinse pads in sink or with alcohol, dry.
Replace pads. Make sure pads are fully seated.

Waste ink absorber is full How do i empty it

You can't empty that one, you need a shop to replace the pads which are under the printer, and they can reset the waste ink counter at the same time.

My error message says the used ink tank is full. How do I empty it?

You can't empty it, it's a set of pads covering the whole bottom of your printer. They only cost around $10.00 but you need a shop to replace and reset the waste ink counter.

How do you find the waste ink collector on a printer/scanner ?

Inkjet printers have a fibrous pad inside them that collects the waste ink from cleaning the print head. Over time, this pad fills up with ink and can no longer hold any more. When this occurs, the printer indicates a "waste ink tank full" error.

The waste ink absorption pads are inside the printer, in the very bottom. They are usually soaked with ink when full and are very messy.

Replacing the waste ink absorption pads is something an authorized canon service facility can take care of for you.

The printer is indicating "waste ink near full"

Hey,

The waste ink pads should generally be around the cartridge carrier, or below, possibly at the bottom of the printer.

have a look at this page for instructions on how to reset the counter after the waste ink pads have been cleaned or replaced.

Yep your printer is nearing service time. This involves changing the waste ink pads and resetting it.

you could reset the printer without changing the wate ink pads but you risk damaging it

What i do is take the pads out wash them and replace them.

the waste ink pads are the pads the cartridge rest on whan itsn in neutral position
