Question about managemylife.com
It seems that my dryer has "locked up" Help! It is 3 weeks old! The "check filter" indicator is flashing and "CL" is flashing on the display panel. I clean out the lint trap every time after a load is dried. I unplugged the dryer and let sit for 15 seconds in hopes to reboot it. I've vacummed out the interior trap. The ventilation duct is shot and a direct path into the wall. I checked the main circuit breaker and the GFCI and it is on...help!
First, the 796 model means that the dryer was made by LG. The CL code usually means that the Control Lock (Child lock) is engaged. There are two buttons that you should press and hold for ~3 seconds to disengage the lock. There will be be a small icon (padlock or child's face and the padlock) with lines to the appropriate buttons. If only one button is used that icon will be on the single button. (Frequently it will be the Temp and Option buttons or just the Dry Level button. On some models, it's the Anti-bacterial or Rack Dry button.)
As for the lint trap issue, check the rest of your vent system. Sometimes, the cover on the outside of the vent comes loose and blocks the vent.
I hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a Kenmore HE 3, model number 110.8787,8789. I cleaned the lint screen, unscrewed the plastic that holds the screen and cleaned all lint out. After doing so, my dryer won't start. The lig
when you removed the screen from the inside you disconnected the wires from the 2 metal strips. now you need to remove the lower panel on the front. and reconnect them. you will need a T-20 torx and unplug the dryer to be safe. the wire will have 90 degree push on connectors and it does not have any polarity concerns. the two male connectors are real close to the top of the panel, maybe even slightly under the other panel.
