Vcff136ss freezer drain hose

I have water at the bottom of my freezer and I was told to check the drain hose for blockage. however, I do not see a hose of any type and I'm wondering if I have to remove the back wall of the freezer in order to see it? appreciate any instructions on how to locate and clean the drain hose. thanks.

Look at the bottom in the back for a small (usually black) rubber hose. this wil be the drain and the only way to clean them that I am aware if is to blow up through it ( makes amess inside the freezer or fridge but does work. some models drain the freezer into a funnel like thing on the back wall inside the fridge and then to outside.

Why is my Viking refrigerator/bottom freezer leaking water out bottom of door? There is a layer of ice on bottom of freezer.

The ice on the bottom of the freezer is blocking a drain hole. When the freezer defrosts automatically, water drains out the bottom into a tray, where it evaporates away and you never see it under most conditions.

The solution is to either defrost the freezer manually and let the ice melt, or pour some hot water into the bottom of the freezer to thaw out the ice and clear the blockage.

If the drain is plugged because of some foreign matter, either method will make a mess, so have some towels at the ready to sop everything up if need be. If it is blocked, a can of Air Duster (like for cleaning electronics) might be able to blow the blockage out, if you seal the nozzle tube up as it is stuck into the drain.

Most likely it is just ice blockage.

You can access the drain tray (where the water goes to evaporate) by removing the grille on the front bottom of the fridge and peeking / poking around. You might want to keep an eye on it as you defrost the freezer or pour hot water in the bottom - it can over-fill quickly.

My ge gts201cncww fridge has ice freeze up in the bottom of the freezer and water drips into the fridge and freezes the fresh food

the drain tube behind the inside rear freezer wall below the drain pan there is plugged, remove rear inner freezer panel you will see the drain tube take a piece of hose and insert it down this drain hole and seal the drain opening as best as possible the blow into the hose to remove blockage,a piece of wire will work too,but the drain is not a straight run and getting a wire down there to remove blockage is difficult, then also put very hot water into the drain hole to help melt ice if this is the blockage problem

Layer of ice builds up on bottom of freezer

A common cause on many refrigerators is the the aut-defrost drain hose is plugged resulting in a back-up and depositting in freezer compartment. Check the drain pan under the fridge, if it is dry, then check the drain hose for blockage.

Water collecting in bottom of refrigerator side under meat keeper. Wards model no. HMG 2290

Check to see if your ice maker is not leaking water. Otherwise, the problem might be a clogged drain in the freezer. Need to remove the back cover in the freezer to check that the drain is clear. If it is clogged, try removing any blockage that you see and push wire down the drain tube to clear any blockage in the tube.

I just opened up the back of my Frigidaire Side by Side counter depth to find the drain hose was bent and collapsed coming right out of the bottom of the freezer and the pan was dry as a bone. It doesn't look like my drain hose has ever drained a drop of water. The freezer bottom is full of ice And the rust and chipping paint under the bottom of the freezer door along with the mysterious puddles of water every morning means the drain system definetely never worked. Frigidaire should be responsible for this. This, along with the ice maker rebuild I had to do,... after ice was spilling all through the fridge. I actually had warrantty left on that one and called customer support in India to find out I could make the repair myself. Yep I had to do it. Frigidaire you failed.

you are right about the cause of water in the fridge - blockage in the drain. i'v never met this caused by ice but it is possible.
with the freezer, the cause of the fault is the fan not working - probably jammed with ice. take back panel off inside freezer and check for ice build up. if loads of ice thgen defrost system has failed. you can do a temporary repair by melting the ice off with a hairdryer

King, you probably have a defrost drain port that is frozen over. When the unit goes into defrost it's running through the air damper instead of going out the drain line. Therefore you get water into the refrigerator section. You can verify this by removing the evaporator cover in the freezer and checking the drain hole. You can clear it by running hot water into it. You will have to remove all the built up ice from water that did not drain in that area...Catriver..post back.
