Driver cover "a" won't close

I was shooting 5/8” brads and experienced a “jam” where several of the brads got stuck under the driver guide. It took a while to get them out, but I just used a small screwdriver and cleared the “brad jam”. Now, however, the driver guide cover “a” does not want to close far enough for the “latch” to hold the front of the gun shut. IAs far as I know I did not lose any parts when clearing the jammed brads, and was very careful not to bend anything. This should have been a simple situation where I clear brads and everything goes back to working fine. But something changed and I cannot figure out what.

How do I adjust the depth of the brad nail on the porter cable BN 125A brad nailer

Hello. To adjust the depth of the nail you have to increase or decrease the air pressure from the compressor. Look at the compressor and you will see a knob or dial that you can turn to increase or decrease the air pressure. Do this adjustment in small increments testing the nailer by driving nails into a scrap of the same material you will be driving the nails into on the actual job. Increasing the pressure will drive the nail deeper and decreasing the pressure will drive the nail less deep. Joe

I have a Porter Cable brad nailer BN125A, at 125 PSI and depth adjustement turned to the deepest drive setting, the brad does not set flush with the surface. Problem?

A brad nailer in good working order, set to the deepest setting and using 125psi should almost shoot the brad through the wood. If you have been oiling the gun properly (three to four drops at he beginning of your work session and again in the afternoon if under constant use) then you probably have some worn o-rings inside the gun. Porter Cable makes a driver maintenance kit (PN1001 60062) for your gun that will make it work like new.

Air is escaping from the top of the bn125a brad nailer. It won't fire nails.

it sounds like you have a damaged o ring/seal that requires maintenance. You can go to Dewaltservicenet.com and download a breakdown for this tool and also order parts for it. When reinstalling new o rings don't forget to put a little bit of grease on them so they don't roll or pinch. Let me know if you need more help

Bn125 brad nailer is jammed

I've had to remove the plate over the "firing pin" a couple of times (the allen wrenches come with the gun) to release it. Mine was caused by a bent pin, that happened when I hit the hose and knocked it off the bench.

When I finally replaced it (CPO/Porter Cable), it's been fine ever since.

Porter Cable BN125A won't set nails below surface

Not sure about the seal, but I do know the pressure has to stay up for this nailer to be effective. Try oiling the gun to free up the mechanics and don't use old nails.
