Question about Yahoo Messenger

I have ads that show on my yahoo pages, also on my msn pages. How do I get rid of them

Ads on my yahoo pages sometimes covers other page information and over play video while I am watching other yahoo related video. It moves the page down so I have less space delegated to yahoo where I want to be in the first place. Can I get rid of these while protecting my yahoo folders and their content?

If you are using Google Chrome browser, there is an extension you can get called AdBlock which should clear them. If you are using a different browser, I am sure there is an equivalent.

SOURCE: i need to get yahoo as my web page or my cover

I am assuming you mean that you want yahoo as your home page. this all depends on what internet browser you are using.
Open up internet explorer, go to tools> internet options. Then under home page put in www.yahoo.com and then click apply. From there you are good to go.
Thank you,
Lee

How can I remove the preview pane from Yahoo mail?

I am not sure what your referring to as the Preview pane but if you are talking about the add that shows up at the top of your list of emails there is only one way to permanently disable this and that is to pay yahoo for ad free site acces which costs $49.99/year. The way yahoo is able to provide so many free services is to get paid by advertisers for placing ads on their pages. I am wondering why the settings menu does not come up when you hover over the gear (Help) icon in your yahoo mail page. I tried on every browser I own and the settings text appears on every one of them. What browser are you using and on what operating system? This information is critical to getting help in most instances. As much information as you can provide the person trying to help you the better off you are.

How to get rid of ads on my screen when I go to my in box in Yayoo mail

You can either temporarily hide the ads that keep popping up on your Yahoo Mail page or block them permanently. To know how, refer to the steps below.

To temporarily hide ads (for free email accounts):
1)Sign in to your Yahoo Mail account
2)When, while viewing your list of emails or a particular email, an ad pops up, you can see a right-facing arrow between your email and the advertisement. Click on this arrow.
3)The ad will get hidden temporarily.
(Important: This blocks the ads temporarily only and as soon as you perform the actions like refreshing the Yahoo Mail page, marking a particular email as spam, replying to an email, or just clicking on any of the sections in the navigation-menu located on the left of the page, a new ad may pop up again).

To permanently remove graphical and text ads:
Yahoo Mail has recently come up with "Yahoo Ad Free Mail" service to enable you to get rid of graphical and text ads on a permanent basis when viewing your Yahoo Mail account from a computer. You need to sign up for Yahoo Ad Free Mail account before starting using this service.
(Note: Before signing up for Yahoo Ad Free Mail account, please check if the service is available in your region. Also, even after subscribing to the service, the subscribers may still get the text ads that come up on Yahoo Mail on a mobile web browser and the text ads that come up in the "Basic Mail" interface of Yahoo Mail on a computer. To know what Basic Mail is, refer to the following Yahoo webpage: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mail-for-desktop/basic-mail-sln5171.html)

Everytime i try to send mail from a craidslist ad or something outlook pops up instead of going to yahoo mail

You have two choices to fix this problem. You can install outlook and configure it to get your Yahoo email, or keep your Yahoo email as it is now and use the Copy and paste option to answer ads in Craig's List.

Outlook is an email program that allows you to upload several accounts into one place. You can use Outlook to get your AOL, Yahoo and many other email programs at the same time and manage it in one place. Outlook picks up the prompts automatically on the ads on Craig's List. If you want to use Outlook, you will need the information on the outgoing and incoming mail servers from your Yahoo account. Set up the incoming and outgoing mail in Outlook with your Yahoo account info and you can use it to answer the ads on Craigs list.

You can use your Yahoo email account as it is now to answer ads on Craig's list by using the copy and paste method. When your in an ad on Craig's list that you want to answer, use your mouse to highlight the email address and click "edit" at the top of the page and then "copy". Minimize the page on Craig's list by hitting the minus key at the top right hand side of your screen and then open your email program. Click in the address section of a new email and right click with your mouse and choose paste. Then write your comments and send as normal.

Hope this helps?

You can not eliminate adds from your yahoo page till the time you don't go out for their paid services. If you really want to eliminate ads buy premium service.

There is no tweak or setting that you can change to eliminate yahoo ads.

There is one possible feature that can help you

Go to your e-mail and select account-tab/options.
Their you have choices to make on subscribing to different things and you will find, manage your account tab. you can limit some of your ads, but not all.
