Make sure it is compatible. Match the voltage and amperage on the keyboard with the power cord's specs. If you don't, you may damage the keyboard.

How to do a master reset on a ctk-491 keyboard, no sound from speakers

Does unit power up? A "dead" keyboard could likely be a defective "wall-wart" power supply BUT don't forget to check the AC outlet as well. If the function lights come on but no audio, I would 1st check with headphones but if that is also dead it may be related to either the slider style volume control on the keyboard, or internal electronic failures.

I lost my adapter to my keyboard and I need to find either a substitute or a new way to turn it on without the adapter, HELP!!!.

Some Casio Keyboards use 9V DC (center negative) others 12V DC (center negative).
If check what voltage your Keyboard use. Generic AC adapters are usually center positive. So you have to invert the wire with a new DC plug to make it center negative,
Easiest is to buy a Casio ac adapter made for your keyboard from a Casio retailer.

Repairing Yamaha psr-12

If the power adapter is not the original adappter- check to make sure the polarity is correct- it should be marked on the keyboard near the adapter socket, and also on the adapter itself.

The keyboard should have an internal fuse- check that. Then with keyboard open, if the fuse is okay, trace the power flow from the power pack and look for broken wires, bad solder connections, stressed components like bulging capacitors, etc. It may have a burned out zener diode in the power supply regulator portion of the main circuit.

Casio keyboard won't power on

If batteries or power adapter does not power up the keyboard...possibilities are...if it has a fuse inside or fusible link check it.replace if blown.Another possibility is power component has a short. maybe from constant movement of power plug into keyboard.sometimes just by inserting the plug and wiggling it can solve the issue..having this fixed by a technician can cost a lot of money.but,if your keyboard`s value is less than the cost of fixing it,might as well replace your instrument.

You need to solve a ground loop problem. Read up about DI's and ground-lift. The problem is circulating currents from the power line back to the system.

FIRST power ALL interconnected equipment from the same source. Do NOT run the keyboard from a stage plug that is different than what your board and amps run from for system safety.

For many situations you will want to use a DI very near the keyboard with ground lift setting. Then run XLR balanced line to your mixer board. You mixer aand all the amps and the keyboard need to be powered from a single receptacle or power conditioning module.
