If you have adjusted the chain correctly and it still keeps coming off then your chain is worn. You should replace the chain and sprockets as a set.

These are the instructions for adjusting the chain. They are taken directly from the manual available at

To adjust the chain:
1. Loosen the axle
2. Loosen the brake anchor (this is attached with the small bolt in the long slot on the left side of the rear fork)
3. Tighten the tension adjusters on the axle 1/8 to 1/4 turn to tension the chain. Tighten both adjusters the exact same amount to maintain the wheel alignment.
Note: this system of adjusters is common to motorcycles and BMX
bicycles so I your are not familiar with it, if you know anyone who is,
they would not have a problem adjusting it for you.
Chain tension: The chain should be "just not-quite snug" in other
words, not taut or sloppy loose. BE CAREFUL NOT TO ADJUST TOO TIGHT. The tensioning system can easily impart too much tension and snap the chain or bend the motor output shaft. Turn the adjusters 1/8 to 1/4 turn at a time and recheck the tension each time.
4. Once the tension is good, tighten the axle and brake anchor bolt. Test run the scooter. Readjust as needed.

Why does the chain keeps tightening

Has it ever come off while using it? If so, there may be burrs on the drive teeth making the chain wider than the bar opening, also if there is no oil getting to chain while operating chain could bind from heat, check sprocket on the bar tip for blockage and inspect the clutch bearing.

How do i fix the rear sprocket on my huffy rock it bicycle

on all single speed bikes, it has been my experience, that chain tension is the reason for the chain to come off, try tightening it again, since this seems to keep happening the chain may be stretched out now and replacing the chain and getting it tight should solve the issue.

Chain keeps going tight on my johnson red saw why

I think you should make sure that when you tighten the 2 nuts that hold the bar, that you raise up on the bar while you tighten nuts. That way the bar cant move up and tighten the chain.

I have a McCulloch chainsaw. The chain has jumped off the tract and I can't get it back on. Can you help me? Thanks.

You will need to loosen the blade locking mechanism and then push the bar back in a little bit and put the chain on then pull it back out and adjust to tighten like you would tighten the chain. Did you know that you have to keep adjusting a chain, especially the new ones because they stretch with use, and a lot when new. To keep them running properly and safely the operator must always be cognizant of the slack in the chain. If you are not familiar with the proper tension on the chain, then when it is all tightened down the bottom section of the chain should not be up tight against the bar. That is too tight. You may want to get someone knowledgable in setting the chain to show you or maybe watch a youtube video. It gets very wordy to describe all the factors for setting the chain and it only takes a minute to actually set one.

My chain keeps falling of, when i put it back on and tightened the chain tension it brakes the chain. What do i need to do?

The chain shouldn't break from tightening the tensioner. Is this a bad chain? Tension should be tight enough that the chain has about 1/2 inch of back and forth movement in the middle of the longest run.
Let me know if this helps or if you need more information.

Cannot tighten the chain bar

Make sure the bar is positioned on the bar adjusting pin before you tighten cover. Adjust tension with bar adjusting screw, then tighten bar bolts.
