Hi

OK as you can c in the picture below you got 3 tabs.
Listing the startup items, command and location. What i would advise you to check under the comamand and under the location to c what is the startup item all about. then from there i would say leave all youre drivers in there along with all youre wanted and windows applications and software, the unwanted stuff you can all tick out. hope this helpes

On start up, everything is optional, unless problems come up.
On services, don't play around with them if you don't know what they are or do, don't adjust services from msconfig. adjust services from

start -> run -> services.msc

My dell d600 has wifi card and the blue light comes on when i press fn f2 but that is all it will do i dont know if there are any drivers installed or if the computer even knows the wifi card is there

Here is the Dell Latitude D600 Drivers Support Link. Go there and click on the "Scan My System For Updates" mid-way down on the page under "Dell Recommends". Or you also have the option of selecting each download Manually. But, if you choose to do it maually, you will have to know EXACTLY which hardware Model to choose. There are sometimes more than one listed. ok?

Unfortunately the error that you getting means that there is a problem with the hard drive. So you will need to replace the drive in the system. Note the D620 uses a SATA drive.

Let me know if you have any more problems or questions

Restore dell d600 to factory settings

Resetting a Dell Latitude to the factory settings allows the user to restore the Dell Latitude to the original operating condition as if it was just taken out of the box. Dell system includes a restore utility called 'Dell Symantec System Restore' to reset or restore your Dell system to factory setting.

Restoring a dell latitude d420 to factory defaults

Hi,
This is true that you need to press the right buttons at the right time or else it will not work. Please make sure no changes have been made to the computer and its Hard Drive. Follow the instructions as under:
  1. Make sure the laptop is properly turned off.
  2. Connect the AC adaptor and turn on the laptop
  3. Immediately press the "Ctrl" key and while keeping it pressed start tapping (keep hitting) the "F11" key you should get the Restore screen with various options to restore and repair the computer.
Hope you find this solution helpful.
