Question about Airlink AWLL3025 802.11g/b Wireless Adapter

Problem where Airlink USB wireless adapter interferes with Windows ME

I have had an ongoing problem with this wireless adapter under Windows ME.  My internet connection is fine, but in almost all cases, when I close out of a program, the icon for it remains in my tray, and the computer freezes up.  To clear it, I use and end the program "Explorer" (which re-initializes itself) and I am operational again.  I also cannot bring up my "Control Panel" window. If I remove the adapter from my USB port, Windows works fine and I don't have the problems mentioned above, but then I obviously can't connect to the internet.  I don't know if this is a driver problem or some other problem where the USB port input is interfering with Windows in some other way. Suggestions?

I cant find the driver download for the airlink awll3026 i got windows 7 now, and cannot get internet...

Download from this link here. According to their technical announcements the windows XP driver works on Vista and 7. There are 2 variations of the driver but not enough information from your question for me to determine which so download this one first and try it. Although they affirm their driver will work in Vista and 7 I would only install the driver and not the whole software suite. Windows does a fine job managing the wireless connection anyway.

Airlink adapter and att router access problems

Make sure you have the most up to date drivers for both your mini usb adapter and your router.

The 64 bit version of windows 7 may not have the right driver for your equipment.

Will get better with time.

Good luck.

I need a driver for Airlink AWLH4030 working with windows 7. The original driver starts error mesages about wlanapi.dll Thanks Rafi

had the same problem(awlh4030). The chipset on the adapter is mfg by Atheros.
If you use the Atheros ar5005gs wireless network adapter driver that comes with windows 7 it works with no problem.

The AWL number was what I was looking for, thanx.
If the AirLink utility is running, there is where you would check the status. The way to set it so that the connection shows in the 'network connections '
Go into your Control Panel, then go into Network Connections
Right click on your AirLink wireless adapter and click “Properties”
Click on the “Wireless Networks” tab
Put a check in the box next to “Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings”
Click “OK”

If you wish to go back to using the AirLink101 802.11g Cardbus Utility, go back into the “Wireless Networks” tab in your AirLink adapter’s properties and remove the check mark next to “Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings”

Hi.

This method will hard reset the wireless drivers back to default settings.
What i want you to do is right click "computer" select "manage" and then "device manager", a list will populate, then click on the + sign next to "network adapters" and right click on the wireless adapter and "un-install" the device, reboot the PC and wait for windows to detect the wireless card and install the drivers for it, this will appear in the system tray (bottom right hand side) when its done try to connect again.

Good luck

Have an airlink card bus

If you have access to change the wireless routers channel do that. Log onto your router from the wired connection probably 192.168.x.1 (x is your subnet, find this by going to run>type cmd>hit enter>type ipconfig>hit enter the gateway IP should be your router

type that ip in a browser i.e. http://192.168.x.1 and log in go to wireless settings and find the channel option. usually you'll want to keep it at 1,6, or 11

(if your wireless utility doesn't show channels) go to your wireless pc and install netstumbler > install it > click the scan button and you should see all of access points around you. choose a channel that is used the least between 1, 6 and 11 and save that as your new channel on the router, as you are probably getting a lot of interference.

second try using the built in windows utility instead of the airlink one

also
update network drivers
update router firmware
don't sit around large metal objects :)
