My HTC Touch phone stopped ringing. It's set to vibrate and ring, but it only vibrates when there is an incoming call. I've checked the settings and the volume and that is fine.
Other sounds, e.g. alarm and music, is also fine. It's just when there's an incoming call that I hear nothing, only the sound of the phone vibrating.
I've had the phone for a year and it has never given problems before.
I'd very much appreciate any help!

Re: Phone doesn't ring, but other sounds fine
:) Sometimes happens to me also. I faced a similar problem before, I think one of the installed programs on your device does it, I couldn't remember the name of the application now but whenever I launch it, my phone sound goes to minimum, Just to let you know. Have a nice day.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I just had this problem - and I have been messing with it for an hour.... but I finally fixed it - Try this - touch the speaker symbol on top (The system status window should pop-up) then touch the speaker symbol again (Now you should have two tabs - one for system and one for ring) Touch ring and slide it up. This worked for me.
Hi. First thing, you can check your sound settings, by tapping Star Menu, then Settings, then Sounds & Notifications, and through that page, you can check if your incoming call alert is on (just sound, or vibrate and sound), you can try to change the ringtone to see if your current ringtone is damaged or not. (Since other sounds are alright, there shouldn't be any problem in your hardware or in the sound volume levels) Hope this helps.
I think the issue is a misconception on the operation of the phone. The phone flashes for the first ring, vibrates for the second ring, and then rings for the 3rd and 4th ring before dropping to voicemail. it requires a registry modification as can be found on some forums to make it "ring immediately." If you put the phone on vibrate it will buzz immediately and skip the flashing lights step.
go to htc.com and download the last rom for touch pro and it will be fine! NB: I downloaded the arabic rom wich have two features 1- on the first Installingthe rom is english 2- As u can active arabic, you can also disable it if you are foreign users but it will be better to install it without acivating arabic (case 1-)
Beginning with the start menu, go to settings, then sounds & notifications. From the drop down list, go to outgoing message and click the "play sound" box (to empty). That should stop the ringing and vibration.
Hope this helps
