SOURCE: i need help on sound built in

u may be able to custom fir the 6x9 into the rear of the vehicle, if you don't want to do that, you may be able to fit them into the spots in the doors, but that still may be a custom job. u could always go with boxes, individual boxes that you could put on the floor on maybe on the back deck where usually the 6x9s would be located. if you dont like that idea, you might try a body shop or electronics retailer because there is definitely a way to fit those speakers in the doors or on the rear deck, it just won't be an easy job for a beginner, you have to cut holes

SOURCE: hi ive got like music

Hello..... I can help you with this problem. You need a crossover to remove all of the high and mid frequencies from the subwoofer. If you run the sub at "full range" (all frequencies), you will destroy the voice coil. If your amplifier has a crossover on it, put it in the "low pass" or "LP" setting. If your amplifier does not have a built in crossover, you will need to add one. A crossover can cost as little as $29 for an electronic one. This will fix your problem. If you have any other questions, just comment back and I will be glad to help you!

SOURCE: hi Ive brought a Sony

You can try to connect the remote power wire at amplifier to main power with a jumper wire if sub works with cd and other sources. Then check remote wire from behind radio or you can simply connect remote power wire to a another switched power source from fuse panel.Just make sure its a clean dedicated power source from fuse box and make sure it turns off amp..Goodluck

What is the Specs for Digital starsound 12" ssw-f1-1242?

- 700rms
- stamped slim steel basket
- dual 4ohm 2" ASV voice coil
- 40 oz magnet structure
- rubber gasket ring
- silver push terminal
Not that good of quality speakers. You would be lucky if they lasted a couple months pushing 700 watts rms.

Hi what amp do i use on my starsound ssw-f1-1242 slim sub

any amplifier u use will make the sub work ( if configured for subwoofer play)

my recommendation is that u use between 400watt rms to 1000watt rms ( the smaller the box used for the sub, the more power you can give it)

please note though that playing at high power levels exceeding manufacturers specs needs someone who knows what they are doing (when it sounds distorted decrees power)

also make sure to match the headunits output voltage to the amplifiers voltage (eg. if the headunit output is 4 volt, then make sure to adjust the sensitivity on the amplifier to be at 4 volt as well)

hope this helps and let me know if you have any other question

Hi to everyone. I have a jensen XS - JA485 1500W amplifier pushing a pair of pioneer 6x9 440W speakers and a set of Starsound digital splits for the front. The guys that installed the sound did not set the...

You can't drive a Pinto at 150 miles per hour without breaking it, you need to get more speakers. a possible solution will be to add a 100 microfarad non polar 200 volts capacitor in series with the speakers to cut the low frequency and use a separate sub for the bass.

Best way to set up my car sound system???

This is a multi-tiered question. First of all, you're going to want to run the subs at a 2ohm load (if the amp is capable) to get the maximum power from it. Use the 5.0.1 for the subs only, that's what it's designed for. Run the cap in conjunction with only the sub amp as it has the largest power requirement. You can not link the two amps to increase output as they are first of all different amps and second of all not designed to run that way. Some amps are but they must be identical.
Set the crossover on the sub amp probably no higher than 80Hz (I like it lower than that but that's a personal preference) and turn the sub-sonic filter off.
Now, one of the most important things about a subwoofer is it's encosure. If it's a properly built box designed for your subs specifically then you should be ok. You dont' specify if it's ported or sealed etc. That would be helpful to know as well as it's approximate size (air volume).
The head unit can also have some bearing on how things sound, as I recall the Sony X-Plod units are fairly decent for the price and if set up properly should sound ok.

If you need further assistance please provide a little more info about the sub enclosure etc.

good luck!

  • It is capable of driving a 2 ohm load.
  • It is a single channel amp, so bridging is not applicable. There are two speaker connections, true, but they are tied together internally.
  • It's rated at 500W @ 2 ohms
  • The issue you're going to have hooking up the subs you own is that you're not going to be able to optimize the output of the amp. If you hooked all of them up in parallel (both 15w0 as well as the dual voice coils of the 15w6), you'd be putting a 1.7 ohm load on the amp, which it may not like. In my mind, your best bet is to either put both 15w0's in parallel (125W per sub) and not use the 15w6.....OR.......use only the 15w6 with the dual voice coils in parallel (350W to the sub).
