Other sites suggest the problem is the steam pump not working. This is a replacable item - $ 60 .

If you get a blockage and or descale and do not do it correctly you can block the steam pump or the steam path. If you run the pump for too long; then you can burn it out.

SOURCE: sunbeam expresso machine steam wand pressure down by 50%

Dirty heater element , you will need to de calcify the unit. Use CLR or somthing like that and that should take care of the problem.

Why no steam.Sunbeam 6910 cafe series. Turned on steam wand this morning and all I heard was a sigh, a feint try to deliver steam but not successful. Very little pump noise / action almost non-existent....

Hi,

This could be 1 of many issues, usually the Steam pump (black or blue) is corroded and no longer vibrating correctly, the pump could be blocked, the pipe work after pump but before boiler could be blocked, the steam boiler could be blocked, the pipe work after steam boiler but before the steam tap could be blocked, the steam tap could be blocked, and also the milk nozzle could be blocked, if you feel competent to take it apart, it is easy to fix but if not take the machine to local service agent.

The steam wand on my sunbeam cafe series is not working

Is it still making the correct pumping noise? If so, unscrew the knob from the end and unblock the steam head and wand with a bit of wire.
If it doesn't sound like it is pumping, either the microswitch in the left-hand dial is faulty or the steam pump is dead. To test the microswitch, pull the steam dial off and try to get the switch to make a connection (it's hidden at about 2 o'clock in the housing). Failing that you're up for a steam pump... about $80.

Wet steam, poor pressure

Have you tried cleaning the steam wand nozzle with a paperclip (or the pin tool mounted in the back door of the unit?

Milk deposits can make their way inside the nozzle and block it, describing the symptoms you're getting.

Sunbeam em6910 leaking steam

Pull the steam dial off (there's nothing holding it on apart from friction). Unscrew the small screw in the middle of the plastic holder, and adjust the position of the copper steam tap using pliers to turn the steam fully off. When reattach the plastic cover and then the dial. The dial will now have the correct range to turn the steam off.

Hi There, If your ascaso steel duo is not producing steam,
Could be that:
The thermoblock may be blocked - Try descaling.
JURA descaling tablets
Steam wand may be blocked - try removing steam nozzle/steam wand and submerge in hot soapy water.

Cant make hot milk or foam ascaso dream the wand doesnt work it just stopped. also my coffee is not hot, only lukewarm ive opened it up and everything looks ok, its all just electrics all of which look...

Hi Mike,
You may have 2 issues.
Steam wand may be blocked;
Try descaling the machine 1st before you do any thing else.

1.Try removing the steam tip, if you don't get steam with tip removed, try removing wand, if you don't get steam then the steam pin may be blocked.

If after descaling coffee is still jst warm you could replace thermostats http://www.bluestarcoffee.eu/ascaso--boiler-thermostats-x-2-193-p.asp

If you still don't have steam after descaling and replacing thermostats then you may need to replace the o rings on steam pin.

Can't get steam wand to completely shut off

Sounds like you might have buildup of scale in your system which is clogging up the steam wand valve and preventing it from closing properly.  You should use a descaler regularly to clean out your machine !  I would try flushing out the machine a half dozen times with descaler first to see if that solves the problem.  You can use descaler sold for coffee machines (Starbucks sells it), or use a product like "CLR" (in the grey plastic jug) which is sold at hardware stores.  After running the descaler through 4 to 6 times you should notice an improvement in the valve closure.  If this doesn't help at all, it's possible that your steam wand valve is damaged.  Find a decent coffee machine sales and repair place and bring it in for an inspection.  Starbucks will not actually repair the machine for you, but they might (?) be able to arrange shipping it to a repair place...  Keep in mind that Starbucks stores in each city usually have a contractor who takes care of all of their machines.  You could ask at one of their stores if they can tell you how to contact their repair person/company.

STEAM PROBLEM

Does the steam itself smell, or just the milk. If yes on the steam run the descale again. If no on steam then check the perfect cream wand the black plastic arm connected to the steam wand, dissamble and clean, make sure all the holes are clear.
