    Thanks for posting comment!

I also found the wiring diagram, so this is not the problem. I only want to know what sort of boxes I need to buy and how much power the radio can handle...

I found that I need 4ohms boxes, but don't know the power the radio can handle without ampiflier.

are you looking for a wiring diagram? if so, any panasonic deck uses the same color coding. If you can't download any manual. write down the colors & post it. I can get you the answer in short order. If you've got a technical issue, what is it? I can probably help.

By adding a box... Do you mean a sub box or a full range box? Most boxes are fairly eficient and can work without an amp, however it's not gonna have loads of volume. A sub box will not work without an amp and crossover or an amp with a crossover built in. You can find loads of deals on amps @ ebay! generally you can find last years model for half price or better! Big deal if it's last years! saving hundreds is what it's all about! Just a word of advice though, stick to name brand stuff, keep away from Pyramid etc. stick to JL, Orion, Fosgate etc. it's all they've been doing for 30 years and you get good product. Hope this helps.

My radio has an aux button, but no aux jack, is one hidden somewhere for use in different model style, ie sle, lx

if you have aux button there is a plug wire that mite be in the dash of the car, you could go to the radio manufacture website see if you can find the users manual, or installation guide, operational manual, the aux mite be a wifi option on other device of similar radio, that radio may have many versions and the version you got does not have that option with the cheaper version of radio that was installed when the car was made.
go to manufactures website, service, make, model,
it may need drivers to run the aux.

a non stock radio install.
depends on what radio, for sure. huh?
did said new radio come with a DIN box>?

there are 2 issues, mechanical, and electrical.
all autostores and even walfart sells an an adapter plug that lets
the new rad, wire connect each, and not damage to car harness.
that be first
then use google, yes, lots of videos of other figuring out the mechanics .

so i will type for you, now, using google ,is that ok.???

I need the radio operating manual for a Jeep Patriot 2009 model. Where can I down load it from as the local dealer cannot seem to find a hard copy for me.

following is the procedure. u can also check ehow for more details.
  • Twist the negative cable off the terminal on the vehicle battery, using an adjustable wrench.
  • Remove the factory issue stereo. Pry off the radio trim bezel with a flat head screwdriver. Remove the four bolts on each corner of the radio. Pull the radio out the dashboard. Unplug the thick black radio antenna cable. Disconnect the wire harnesses from the rear of the stereo. Place the old stereo to one side.
  • Prepare the dashboard for the new stereo. Fit the radio installation sleeve provided with the aftermarket stereo to the radio installation kit. Feed the sleeve through the portal of the radio installation kit and bend the tabs on the sides of the sleeve to secure it in place. Feed the audio wiring of the Jeep and the radio antenna cable through the portal of the assembly and slide the assembly into the dashboard. Secure it in place with the bolts removed earlier.
  • Wire the new stereo. Connect the wiring of the stereo to the audio wiring of the Patriot, using a custom wire harness adapter. Push the connections together until they snap into place and test the connection by tugging gently on either end.
  • Plug the radio antenna cable into the alloted port on the rear of the aftermarket head unit.
  • Slide the connected aftermarket stereo into the prepared housing in the Patriot's dashboard. Click it into place in the radio installation sleeve, taking care not to trap any wiring.

My radio stopped working after changing the battery. The manual says I need enter the code. But I didn't see the "SAFE" word on the display when I switch on the radio. Is the radio broken?

The code is set unique for each radio, as it is installed.
It is then supposed to be written down in the owner's manual.
But if it was not, then anyone selling that brand of radio and reset it to a new code that they can tell you. For example, if it is a Blaupunkt radio, then a Mercedes, VW, or even Best Buy store could help you.
But no one here can, because even someone with the same year and model car and radio, would have a different code.

    I need the radio code.

The radio is factory installed and origanally came with a card in the glove compartment or owners manual. check with your local honda dealer, they should be able to pull it up by the VIN.

    good luck

    Installation

Yes, if your explorer's stock radio is bigger than the other, just get an adapter kit, walmart, ebay ect., and a wireing harness adapter for that model. Then pull it out and start wiring it up.
