SOURCE: How do you turn off light at bottom of TV under Samsung name?

black electrical tape. Ha ha. There is a way to turn the standby light off in the menu on certain sammy TVs. I don't know if yours is one of those. And for the record, don't ever ever buy a tv in the UK, they burn down houses.... HA HA.

SOURCE: TV wants to turn on & off (clicking sound)for about 10 minutes.

I had the exact same problem on my LN-T5265F LCD (clicking on and off - stays on after 10 minutes). I just followed the advice here. - I opened up the TV (very easy 20 or so screws).
- Took the cover off the BN44-10150A power board.
- Found the two bad capacitors on the top right of the board. (They were bulged on the top)
- Went to Radio Shack and purchased two 1000uf capacitors
- De-soldered the old caps and soldered in the new ones
- Screwed the TV back together
- Powered it on and it is working great now!

Thanks to everyone who posted here. A repair that could have been a several hundred dollars with a service call, turned out to be a $6.00 fix by replacing a couple of capacitors myself. The wife thinks I’m a genius. Funny thing – I told the guy at the Radio Shack what I was doing and he said “why don’t you just get a new TV, They’re very inexpensive now”.

SOURCE: When you turn it on it takes 30 minutes to come

You have dying power supply more likely due to bad caps, that is what you should look for, do not keep trying to use the TV or maore damage may result due to unstable DC voltages with a lot of AC ripples feeding the circuits.
Look for caps with leaking/bulging tops/bottom seals.

SOURCE: Samsung FlatPanel has picture for a minute or so then turns white/light blue

Is there same problem with other input devices also? Look for any jammed buttons on the remote. If it does not work even then, this may need attention by a qualified service technician.

The alternating blue orange light means you have put a reminder on for a program that hasnt started before you switched off, you need to remove the reminder before you turn the tv off then the light will be steady blue

Tip

Increase Your TV's Lifespan

Considering the whole goal of television salesmen is to have us return to buy more televisions when the old ones give out, perhaps we shouldn't trust the settings they provide by default. By fiddling a bit with your TV's settings, you can:
Increase Your Set's Lifespan: TVs are a lot like bonfires: the brighter they burn, the faster they fade. Turning down your TV's contrast control can greatly increase the life span of the tube, the plasma panel, or the bulb that produces your TV's light.
Reduce Headaches: Ever watch a small bright television in the bedroom with no other lights on? Ever wake up with a headache? The two may be connected, and reducing the brightness of the television can save you money on aspirin.

The power light (bright blue) on my Olevia 26" LCD burns brightly in my bedroom ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT. Is there anyway to dim it?

Had the same problem and took the easy way out: I cut a small piece of electrical tape and covered the LED. There is no way to dim it.

How do you turn off light at bottom of TV under Samsung name?

Hi I am Vortash that is the standby light and the only way to turn it out is to turn the set off at the wall ? This is the safest thing to do at night in any case Televisions are responsible for more fires in the home than almost anything else .
Here in the United Kingdom there was even a Public announcement film made just to tell people to unplug them at night made by the Fire safety council ... regards Vortash

Sony Bravia KDL 46", no picture, standby light blinks 4 times

Since the TV is still receiving power, the problem is going to be with the TV's mainboard.  After you unplugged the TV and plugged it back in, you said the power light went out again, so I assume the standby light wasn't flashing again?  The flashing standby light is indicating an error code so my suggestion is to contact Sony for service options regardless if there is a warranty or not because service is the only solution to this situation.  Don't forget to provide them the error code or 4 flashes repeating.

If the whole screen turns a bright blue and shuts down then you may have a bad blue crt. This will need to be replaced plus adjustments/alignments. Get an authorized Sony servicer to do the repair. Good Luck
