black electrical tape. Ha ha. There is a way to turn the standby light off in the menu on certain sammy TVs. I don't know if yours is one of those. And for the record, don't ever ever buy a tv in the UK, they burn down houses.... HA HA.

I had the exact same problem on my LN-T5265F LCD (clicking on and off - stays on after 10 minutes). I just followed the advice here. - I opened up the TV (very easy 20 or so screws).
- Took the cover off the BN44-10150A power board.
- Found the two bad capacitors on the top right of the board. (They were bulged on the top)
- Went to Radio Shack and purchased two 1000uf capacitors
- De-soldered the old caps and soldered in the new ones
- Screwed the TV back together
- Powered it on and it is working great now!
Thanks to everyone who posted here. A repair that could have been a several hundred dollars with a service call, turned out to be a $6.00 fix by replacing a couple of capacitors myself. The wife thinks I’m a genius. Funny thing – I told the guy at the Radio Shack what I was doing and he said “why don’t you just get a new TV, They’re very inexpensive now”.

You have dying power supply more likely due to bad caps, that is what you should look for, do not keep trying to use the TV or maore damage may result due to unstable DC voltages with a lot of AC ripples feeding the circuits.
Look for caps with leaking/bulging tops/bottom seals.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on:

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

Is there same problem with other input devices also? Look for any jammed buttons on the remote. If it does not work even then, this may need attention by a qualified service technician.
