GM uses an on-board anti-theft system. It is located inside the steering column. It is tamper proof. If a thief shocks the ignition key cylinder then it will enable the the " No Start" program. Also if the ignition key cylinder assembly get loose and worn. The Security system will start to malfunction. Call your local GM/Chevy Dealer for price and availability for a new unit or let them fix it. Let me know if that helps, good luck.

My chevy C3500 4x2 diesel crew cab is turning over but wont start i checked all the fuses do u think it may be at fuel pump r a line stopped up or a senser

You need air, fuel, and spark to start your vehicle. It may be the fuel pump, filter, fuel pump fuse/relay. You should be able to hear the fuel pump kick on when you first turn your key. Fuel goes to the pump, filter, lines, and engine. If it is getting gas, you need to check for spark. Spark plugs/coil wires, distributor, dist.cap, cam sensor, ect. It can be anyone of them. Check for gas and spark.

I have the same problem on my 2000 chevy crew cab dually keep searching and searching the internet but no one has a cure for this problem. I found it !!!! It is the stupid little black box under the ignition where you put the key in. I tapped it with the screwdriver and the effects kept reversing......light and fan off, then on.....each time I hit it. At least I found the problem area !!!! If you have any questions feel free to email me. chevy720@msn.com

Need to replace 1997 e350 ford Ignition ,how can i

you dont have to remove the steering wheel on a most Ford car and trucks you insert the key turn to the on position and there is a small pin under the ignition switch that you push and it comes right out.you have to remove the steering wheel cover above and below the ignition switch.

How do i remove the ignition swicth from a 2004 chevy siverado 1500

The procedure to remove the ignition switch is
  1. Start by disconnecting you negative battery cable.
  2. Wait at least 1 minute to disable your airbag system.
  3. Remove the airbag from the steering wheel, it's retained by a couple bolts on the back of the steering wheel.
  4. Disconnect the wires to it, and set it aside.
  5. Remove the clip that is above the lock nut for the steering wheel, then remove the lock nut.
  6. You need a steering wheel puller to pull the steering wheel off. After you remove the steering wheel, you should have access to the turn signal switch.

Sounds like a bad ignition switch, usually in the steering column under the plastic, it should be only around $40. try AutoZone if it doesn't hellp they're good about returns
