hi,
You dvd have problem with its spindle motor. Spindle motor is one on which the CD rotates. If the winding of the spindle motor become short this problem can occur. you can see the spindle motor in the center of the mechanism. spindle motor will not cost a lot. Just replace the spindle motor your problem will solved.

I have a philips hts6510 home theatre system and when i put a dvd in to play it says no disc

hi,
Normally a dvd player shows the message NO DISC when,
1. The disc inserted is bad.
2 The lase pickup unit inside the dvd lost its reading intensity, dirty lens or the spindle motor damaged .

In your case the second one happened. the intensity of the laser pickup unit has lost or the spindle motor faulty or there is some dust on its lens. just insert a cleaning cd in it for two or three times. then check again is the DVD is reading or not

if the problem remains then you have to check the motor and the laser pickup unit. the lase pickup unit have two laser emitter and receiver in its inside . one for reading and playing DVDs and the other for CD and MP3. also the spindle motor runs in different speed when u insert dvd and cd.

Open the cover of your dvd player and power it on insert an audio cd and watch is it reading or not also notice the speed of the spindling of the cd. if the audio cd reads and play. then the possible problem is the spindle motor

To conform it remove the audio cd and insert a dvd. watch the rotation of the dvd. if it feel very hard to rotate it then, the spindle motor is damaged. if so replace the spindle motor if it runs more the the speed of than audio cd then the laser pickup unit is faulty. Then u have to replace the laser pickup unit.
if you need any further assistance from me , feel free to contact me through fixya.

FAILURE TO READ DISCS. TECHNICS SL-DV280 (SC-DV280)

if the disc starts to rotate when helped by hand then you definately have a weak spindle motor. dvds spin faster than cds which gives more wear & tear to the motor. i've repaired these faults numerous times. hope this helps?

Panasonic RV32 DVD player has an H07 error

This code means that the spindle motor did not come up to speed and the only way to fix it is to first find out if its the driver servo circuit thats bad or the spindle motor itself is defective. If you know how to trouble shoot a motor speed control servo sure you can fix it, But theres no easy wand waving fix for this unit. Sorry.
u may try new spindle motor

i once had a panasonic dvd player which displayed the same code H02 and used the same drive mechanism as your player. this turned out to be a worn spindle motor and once replaced, all worked fine. you may well have the same fault. hope this helps?

If you put a disk in and it just clicks several times, it's more than likely the spindle motor. It's best just to replace the DVD drive. My own theory is that when you record in the high speed mode, it is just too much for the spindle motor to handle over time. I keep my record speed in the standard mode to play it safe.

Faulty drive motor

You can replace the spindle motor to resolve the problem. It is quite a common fault. A quick fix that sometimes holds, is to remove 1 only of the 2 mounting screws from the top by coming in at an angle with a jeweler's screwdriver(if you are lucky the platter may have an access hole), and put a quick squirt of CRC 2-26 into the motor using the straw that fits to the cans nosel(if you don't have the straw, a syringe will do), enough to "flood" it, but not enough to get it everywhere. Then fire the unit up and put it in play mode-repeat track 1, this spins the cd at the highest speed and cleans the commutator and brushes enough to get the motor back to serviceability again. Removing the motor completely and running it on the bench using 6-12 volts for 10 mins and then reverse direction is even more effective. If you pull the spindle platter off the motor, be sure to measure with a steel ruler the deck height it sits at so as to reinstall it to the exact same height will also Good luck with your repair. A FixYa rating for this techo know how would be great thanks :)

DVR 120 Disc/Screen freezes half way through

CD does not run
Clean lens and adjust the disk level
Not spinning disc
If it spins with a little help from yourself replace the spindle motor with improved motor, part number: RXQ0749A
This fault would only occur on c.d play back. The sound would gradually start to distort, until all that could be heard was complete distortion. This fault was intermittent and would occur whenever it felt like
Believe it or not, this fault was cured by replacing the optical unit
