Hello Zarko, hi, make sure you have connected also the 4 pin molex 12 volt plug (square yellow & black), check also your RAM, the three beep is a display problem, so check your VGA ports and graphics card

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

2-7 Connector definitions:
Power Connectors

"A 24-pin main power supply connector (JWP1), and three 8-pin CPU PWR connectors (JWP2 / JWP3 /JWP4) on the motherboard.
These power connectors meet the SSI EPS 12V (Volt) specification.

In addition to the 24-pin ATX power connector, the 12V 8-pin CPU connectors at JWP2 / JWP3 / JWP4, MUST be connected to your power supply.

Warning: To prevent damage to the power supply or motherboard, please use a power supply that contains a 24-pin and three 8-pin

Cant get computer to

Disconnect everything from the motherboard except the power supply, CPU and power switch.

Turn on the computer. You should hear 3 beeps because you removed the memory.

If you don't hear any beeps, check the power supply. Check all the connections. Did you connect the 4 pin power? Did you skimp on it? A common mistake is to get a cheap, high-power supply. Just because the box says it's 1000 WATTs doesn't mean that will carry a steady load.

Still nothing...

It's either a bad motherboard or processor. If you have another processor that is supported on that board and you know it works, try it. If it boots return your CPU for a good one.

Unfortunatly, if it doesn't boot with a known-good processor that just proves the board is bad; it doesn't prove your CPU is good. You may have more issues.

When turning on the power everything starts as normal but then the system stops and beep. The fans keep turning but you can no longer hear the power supply going.

Either the power supply is bad, or (if you're getting two or three beeps) your memory is bad. If you get one quick beep and it shuts down, your video may be bad. How many beeps do you get?

MSI P6N Platinum not booting up

Have you plugged in the additional power supply connectors to this board at JPW1 (under the heatpipes towards the rear connector panel)? If not then you need an 8 pin 12V power supply from your PSU to this connector (This is what powers your CPU). If you don't have an 8 pin connector, you can get away with a standard 4 pin. It will only fit in one way, so you'll know.
It may sound like a daft solution, but you'd be amazed how many people forget to plug this connector in on this and similar boards.

K8 Neo-2 V-2.0

Please connect jPw1 to 4 Pin 12v, this supplies power to CPU. Than enter Bios & find Boot settings. Set the cdrom as boot 1 & hd as boot 2. Check the jumper on the cdrom, as it is the only device on secondary IDE controller it should be set as a master.
It is better to install a fresh copy of windows with a new motherboard. Put your windows CD in the cdrom & the system will boot to it. And your on your way. You can install the drivers for the board after windows has been installed.
Enjoy!
