I have a HL-2070N printer and it would not print, the Paper light is red and blinking. Also, sometimes when it prints the pages get stuck half way out. Any solutions? Thank you.

Usually there is a sensor right before the paper enters the fuser. If the paper sensor is bad the machine will stop feeding and output the error paper jam. This is probably the cause if the paper stops in the same position all the time.

The error light is simply telling you that there is a paper jam. Open both the back panel (you should be seeing the orange roller clearly) and the front panel. Grab the handle and take out the toner and drum and check there are papers stucked. Chances are there will be.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Brother MFC 7420. New Brother Toner, New Drum, cleaned feed and separator rollers, changed paper, still jamming. Paper stuck around brown fuser roller. What can I do next?

Check whether the fuser rollers are free turning. If the paper is stopped at the ejection roller, the ejection roller needs to be replaced.

Brother Laser Printer, paper gets stuck and printing wipes off.

Opened up the back and found there is a plastic cog wheel on the end of an orange drum, which must be the Fuser Unit, which was damaged. So the paper was getting as far as the drum but the rollers to pull it through the Fuser Unit were not going round. A new Fuser Unit seems to be about £99 plus VAT and I don't supose a new printer is much more than that. So if anyone has a spare Fuser Unit for a Brother HL 5140 which is still in good working order I would be happy to consider buying it. Alternatively I have 2 x spare drums DR3000 and 1 x toner TN3060 for sale !!

When a sheet of paper is passed through my Brother 2040 the paper becomes speckled

its probably 1 of 2 things. either your drum is worn out or your fuser. Most like its the drum. Take your drum out and look at it and see if it looks clean. if it doesnt, it probably is the drum.

another thing you might try, is to make a test print before the paper hits the fuser area and open up the door, this will cause a paper jam, but you can see if you are getting the speckled print before it hits the fuser.

thanks adi

Paper always get jam at the fuser

This is a common problem and does need a service engineer, the four fuser exit roller assemblies need replacing as they have been upgraded to address this problem.
FYI the parts cost approx

HL-2070N paper LEd flashing

most likely a sensor is tripped, eiher it's stuck or there is something blocking it. the most likely place is in the fuser, back door where paper exits and geta hot. look closely you should see a black lever towards the middle of the fuser, it should be up

Paper a misfeed

not sure if you are talking about two papers jammed in different locations or at different times?

first thing would be to clean the tires that pick up the paper, if too smooth then replace. sounds like a timing issue.paper getting stuck halfway in the fuser c(if no other paper jammed) can be Seperation is off causing the paper to rise onto the drum creating a time lapse, paper tansport belt (in the machine after the drum) is not turning ok, or as simple as wrong size paper Letter in machine but says Legal 8 1/2 x 14

More than likely you have bad feed tires in the tray you're pulling from or if the drum unit is stuck there probably is paper jammed up in the unit.  Replace you feed tires and check your drum separation claws when you are able to get the drum unit out.

Paper gets stuck in printer

Hi, I work on these alot and see the problem quite frequently. It can usually be fixed by 1. either replacing the drum and toner which will eliminate alot of guess work, and if that doesn't fix it then 2 you have a bad fixing unit (AKA fuser). The folded paper makes me think that it's most likey a fuser problem but you can check by opening the rear door and looking for two rollers that are about as thick as two fingers and see if they roll during a test print. Sometimes the gear on the fuser gets broken and while the printer thinks that everything is working okay, it doesn't have a way of sensing the fuser actually rolling. Just as an FYI (and I know this isn't good news) but usually a fuser/fixing unit runs about the same price as the printer itself. So if your printer is on the older side you might want to consider a new one. Good luck.
