Incoming/outgoing message viewing for skype (windows)

Before when someone was messaging me you saw their name and a little blue pen scrowling (and knowing they were typing something) and when finished you saw their message

then i would type and and send and they would read theres their end from me and i also would view this

but this is not happening i don't see that little blue pen and don't receive their message as it goes hidden somewhere - i know its been sent but i cant even scrowl to read it as its no where to be found my end

when i type and send .....again i can't see where mine is gone or read it either on my screen regardless the other end can

no history is there except one messages i put 3weeks ago that never shifts it just sits there and somehow incoming/outgoing message kinda jump underneath it you can see

sometimes skype video is bad and one of us turns off the video and we type back and forth messaging for one of us to get a clearer picture

I can still type and send messages but can't read them on the screen AFTER i send them as there is no history on the screen

the person im sending messages to have no problem there end and its my end that is the problem i can't resolve

the old history remains and never leaves my screen from 2-3wks ago - and the new messages after this just disappear somewhere

please help

SOURCE: instant messaging not working on skype

If you are sending an instant message to a contact who's offline, then you will see the rotating grey circle. Once that contact goes online, he/she will get your instant message.
However, if both of you are online and your messages still can't get through, try calling your contact Skype to Skype to get the message through. I don't know the exact explanation behind it, but that's what we often do and it works.

In the Start Menu click on Run. Type, without the quotes, "regsvr32 jscript.dll" and then click OK. Next, repeat the process but this time type in the Run box "regsvr32 vbscript.dll" and click OK. Please note, if you are using Windows Vista temporarily disable the User Account Control (UAC). You can easily turn it back on. On the Control Panel (Category View) choose User Accounts and Family Safety, next choose User Accounts, and then click Turn User Account Control on or off.

3) If the above does not fix your problem and you are using Windows XP, you can update your Windows Script to version 5.7. In my experience helping others, this is the step that has helped the most people. Exit all browser windows and chat programs including Yahoo Messenger before installing. run registry cleaner reginout to easily fix it

The host 'PoP3"means what


Make sure your password and server name are correct on the email account, and make sure the server you are useing for outgoing mail is a pop3 server. Your provider for internet services may not be a pop3 server on your outgoing mail, it may be a smtp server or something like that for outgoing mail. Check in your email account properties to see what your outgoing mail server says, incoming and outgoing can be different depending on your supplier.

Email settings


you must have email account, also the POP address, and the SMTP with your username and password ready

Set up email account
1. Select Menu > Messaging > Email > Settings > New account > Add.
2. Enter a name for the email account, for example, Home or Office. Select OK.
3. Select Connect using > Edit and select the data account you created earlier to use with this email
account.
4. Select Email address > Edit. Enter your email address. Select OK.
5. Select Connection type > Edit. Select POP3 or IMAP4. POP3 is the most common.
6. Select Incoming server > Edit. Enter the name or the IP address for the incoming server. Select OK.
7. Select Username > Edit. Enter the incoming server username. Select OK.
8. Select Password > Edit. Enter the incoming server password and select OK. Leave this blank if you
want to be asked for the password each time you check new mail.
9. Select Outgoing server > Edit. Enter the name or the IP address of the SMTP server you use to send
email messages. Select OK.
10. Select Advanced settings.
11. Select Your name (not mandatory) > Edit. Enter your name and select OK. This will appear in outgoing
email messages.
12. Select Signature (not mandatory) > Edit. Create a signature to add to your email messages and
select OK.
13. Select Download S&R. Choose what to download when receiving new email messages:
• Subjects only – receive information such as sender and subject before downloading the whole email.
• Up to size limit – receive the whole email. Select Size limit to set the maximum size to download
when receiving new email messages.
• Subjects & text – Only for IMAP4 users. Receive the subject and text but not attached files.
14. Select Check interval (not mandatory). Choose how often you want the phone to connect to your
email server and check for incoming email messages.
15. Select Push email. Only for IMAP4 users. Select On for full email notification functionality or Off to
disable the functionality. See Using push email for full email notification functionality on page 7.
16. Select Allow connection > Edit. Select Any network or Home network.
17. Select Copy outgoing (not mandatory) > Edit. Select On if you want email messages sent from your
phone to be sent to an additional email address of your choice. This way your sent messages are
copied and can be saved for future reference.
18. Select Encryption > Edit. Choose whether your email messages should be encrypted.
19. Select Outgoing. username. If requested, select Edit enter the outgoing server username.
20. Select Outgoing. password. If requested, select Edit enter the outgoing server password.
21. Select Incoming port. If needed, change the port for the protocol you are using.
22. Select Outgoing port. If needed, change the port for the SMTP protocol.

To write and send an email message
1. Select Menu > Messaging > Email > Write new.
2. Select To: to add recipients and select Add. There are three ways to add an intro sentence:
• Select Enter email address. to enter an email address.
• Select Contacts look-up to retrieve a recipient from Contacts.
• Select an email address from the last used recipients.
3. To add more recipients, select To: > Edit select Cc or Bcc and select recipients to add. When finished
selecting recipients select Done.
4. Select Subject: to write the subject.
5. Select Text: to write the text.
6. Select Attachments: and select the attachment to add. Add more attachments the same way.
7. Select Continue.
8. Select Send to send the message or More to view options.
To receive and read email messages
1. Select Menu > Messaging > Email > Inbox.
• Select Send&rec when the inbox is empty or
• Select More > Send & receive to download new messages.
2. Select a message and select View to read it.
To reply to an email message
1. Select Menu > Messaging > Email > Inbox. Select an email message in the inbox. Select More
> Reply and select:
• Yes – to include the original message in your reply or
• No – to exclude the original message.

3. Select Send to send the message or More to view option

I am having problems setting up outlook 2007 for my yahoo.es address.what are the incoming and outgoing mail settings. when I try to do the auto set up it doesnt seem to recognise my network password for...


Here’s how you can read your Yahoo! Mail Plus email using Outlook 2007:
  1. From the Tools menu, select Account Settings.

    Note: If you do not see Account Settings, place your cursor over the two arrows at the bottom of the list to display more choices.
  2. On the E-mail tab, click New. The Add New E-mail Account dialog box appears.
  3. Select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types checkbox. Click Next. The Choose E-mail Service screen appears.
  4. Select Internet E-mail, and click Next. The Internet E-Mail Settings screen appears.
  5. Complete the fields as follows:
    • Your Name: Type your name as you’d like it to appear when you send an email message.

      E-Mail Address: Type your Yahoo! Mail Plus email address (for example, testing80@yahoo.com).

      Account Type: Select POP3 from the pull-down menu.

      Incoming mail server: Type plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com.

      Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Type smtp.mail.yahoo.com.
    • Select the Remember Password checkbox if you don't want Outlook to prompt you for your password each time you check your mail.
    • Do not select the Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) checkbox.
  6. Click More Settings. The Internet E-mail Settings dialog box appears.
  7. Select the Outgoing Server tab:
    • Select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox.
    • Make sure that Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
  8. Click the Advanced tab:
    • For Incoming Server (POP3), select the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) checkbox. The number in the Incoming Server (POP3) field automatically changes from 110 to 995. If it doesn’t, type 995.
    • In the Outgoing Server (SMTP) field, type 465. Under Outgoing Server (SMTP), select the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) checkbox.
    • Next to Use the following type of encrypted connection, select SSL from the pull-down menu.
    • If want to keep a copy of your email messages on the Yahoo! Mail server, select the Leave a copy of messages on the server checkbox. If you want to delete your messages from the Yahoo! Mail server after viewing them in Outlook, leave the box unchecked.
    • If you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on both the Yahoo! Mail server and on your computer, select the Leave a copy of messages on the server checkbox. If you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! server after Outlook has downloaded them onto your computer, leave the box unchecked.

      Note: After your messages are deleted from the server, we cannot retrieve them.
  9. Click OK to close the Internet E-mail Settings dialog box.
  10. Click Next to continue. The Congratulations screen appears.
  11. Click Finish to close the Add New E-mail Account dialog box.
  12. Click Close to close the Account Settings dialog box.

Troubleshooting tips
If you still can’t send Yahoo! Mail from Outlook 2007, you might be accessing the Internet through an ISP that is blocking the SMTP port. If this is the case, try using port 587 when sending email via Yahoo!’s SMTP server. To make this change:
  1. From the Tools menu, select Account Settings. The Account Settings dialog box appears.
  2. Double-click your Yahoo! Mail Plus account. The Change E-mail Account dialog box appears.
  3. Click More Settings. The Internet E-mail Settings dialog box appears.
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. In the Outgoing Server (SMTP) box, type 587.
  6. Click OK to close the Internet E-mail Settings dialog box.
  7. Click Next to continue. The Congratulations screen appears.
  8. Click Finish to close the Change E-mail Account dialog box.
  9. Click Close to close the Account Settings dialog box.

Send or receive messages


Did you configure your HTC using a POP3 or IMAP account? If you do, you need to make sure that the following are correct:

1. Incoming Mail Server - pop.domain.com (i.e. pop.gmail.com)
2. Incoming Port - 110 or 993
3. Outgoing Mail Server - smtp.domain.com (i.e. smtp.gmail.com)
4. Outgoing Port - 25 or 2525 or 587 or 465

You need to contact your e-mail provider to see the correct settings and port number to use for the incoming and outgoing mail server.

You have to make sure to put your complete e-mail address in the user name field.

No record of messaging


Please try using your Windows Control Panel Add/Delete programs and delete Skype, please be careful, when prompted to leave your Skype files, for history.

Then please try re-installing from here:

Sending mail with Vista Windows Mail


Window Vista also have Outlook Express.. please enter the full info for your email account..

On the E-mail Settings page, enter your email account information as follows:

Your Name
Enter your first and last name.
E-mail Address
Enter your email address.
Account Type
Select POP3.
Incoming mail server
Type for your incoming mail server.
Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
Type for your outgoing mail server.
User Name
Enter your email address again.
Password
Enter the password you created for your email account.

After this please check for "Test Account setting"

If everything is working fine, then remove the previous account

And let us know the error message if come up any.

I hope it will resolve the problem and you will be able to use the Outlook.

New mailbox settings:

I have not been able to "send" ANY MESSAGES since last night. I can receive messages but not SEND. It is almost 4:00 and I still cannot find ANY HELP FROM YAHOO. the message that pops up when it is...


  1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
  2. Select the "Mail" tab.
  3. Click the "Add" button.
  4. From the Add menu, click "Mail."
  5. In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name and click "Next."
  6. In the Email Address box, type your Yahoo! Mail address (be sure to include "@yahoo.com") and click "Next."
  7. Under "My incoming mail server is a…" select "POP3."
  8. Type "plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com" in the Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) Server box.
  9. Type "plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com" in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server box.
  10. Click "Next."
  11. In the Account Name box, type your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com").
