On startup press F2 or F12 or whatever key your CMOS recommends to get to SETUP. Is your Hard Drive recognized? Is the HD in SetUp the same model as the HD you installed?

So many computer face this blue screen fetal errors on windows.

This error comes usually when there is problem in software or driver compatibility issue with hardware or operating system.
Also this error comes when there is bed indexing unit in hard drive.
You can solve this errors with following 2 methods.
(1)When you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in safe mode.
Then if you are able to enter in safe mode then uninstall driver or software which you installed recently and face this error.
(2)If you are not able to enter in safe mode Then you need to fix error on hard drive. For that you need windows disk or recovery disk.
Boot your computer with that disk
For that when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 "del" key to enter in bios.
Then go to boot menu and set first boot device as your cd or dvd rom.
Then save settings and exit bios.
Insert windows disk in cd /dvd rom.
Then it boot with that disk. Then you get this message "Press any key to boot from cd.."
Then press any key.
Then follow the procedure then enter in recovery console mode then type in prompt "chkdsk /r"

How to do a scandisk, using windows xp cd

Many people are faced with the problem of a computer crash or disk error problem, which cannot always be fixed normally by booting into windows and doing a disk scan, built into the windows operating system.Fortunately, there is a solution to that problem.First, you will need your windows installation cd that came with your computer.Power on your computer and start tapping the Delete,F2,or,F1 key, depending on the computer (Compaq..F2 or F1)and,Delete button, for others. You may have to repeat this procedure a couple times with each button, turning your computer off and back on again untill you finally see a setup screen appear.Once you see the setup screen, put your windows installation cd into the cdrom tray and close. Then you look up at the top, where you will see a menu of choices, main, advanced, boot, and so on.Some setup screens will be different, but most generally have a boot option on the main screen. If the boot option is under the advanced selection, you will need to use your right arrow keys to navigate over to highlite the Advanced selection then press enter. That will show a menu, where you will see "BOOT ORDER" or "FIRST BOOT DEVICE".If CDROM is already the first item in the list, then you don`t need to make any changes. If "HARD DRIVE",or IDE 0 is first in the list, you will need to change it to CDROM.To do this, make sure you highlite this line by using your up and down arrow keys just to the left of the calculater keys, which are located on the very right end of the keyboard.Once you have highlited the IDE selection, use the + (plus) or - (minus) keys on the calculator, and keep pressing untill you see it change to CDROM.After you are done this, you will see a menu at the bottom of the screen, where you will find "Save changes and exit",usually it`s the F10 key, just press the F10 key and choose "yes" to exit.If you are using the boot option and not advanced, you will need to highlite the "BOOT" option in the first screen when you first entered setup, then press ENTER and it will show you the Hard drive,Cdrom, and so on.Most computers are set to CDROM by default,so,you probably won`t have to do anything.Just choose F10 and wait a few seconds till you see "press any key to boot from cdrom",then you do just what it says..press ANY key you like, the computer will continue to boot from the CDROM and load the files from the CDROM,required to take you to the next step.Depending on the speed of your computer,it may only take a couple minutes.Next, you will see a blue screen with 3 choices. You will see "to install windows xp now press enter,to repair a windows xp installation using recovery console press R,to exit press ESC.You will choose the second one..to repair a windows xp installation using recovery console press R.The computer will continue to load the files it needs to perform any operations needed. You will see a black screen asking which windows installation you want to log onto, press the number 1 on your keyboard, indicating it is the windows installation C: ,then press ENTER.You may be asked for administrative password, just press enter. Now you are ready to tell the computer to check for any errors on your hard drive. You will type in the following command exactly as shown here, please do not type in the dots.... chkdsk c: r ...then press ENTER and the scan of your hard drive will begin. It may take 30-60 minutes, depending on the size of your hard drive and speed of your computer. While you wait, you may want to write this all down or just watch TV or watch the percent of the scandisk go up..it`s up to you. After the scan is finished, you will see a report, telling you that windows found and fixed one or more errors. You can now type exit and press ENTER.You will see press any key to boot from cdrom,do not press any keys, just let your computer continue to boot into windows. You can remove the cd after you are back into windows. *note*..these instructions apply to Windows xp.Other operating systems may be different. You may also prefer to have somebody with a good understanding of computers if you are not sure that you can do it by yourself. If you are not comfortable doing it by yourself and you attempt to do so,may lead to more problems and damage to your windows operating system.Good luck,I hope this will help a great deal, especially for those who are building a computer interest.

My Hitachi Microdrive 4gb hard drive seems corrupt, but my computer still shows photos as jpg files (about 1000kb) and jrg files(30000kb, impossible). When I try to open them, the computer shows "no file"...

H there this mean a file is corrupt and you need to repair the damage file, you can do this by using a recovery disk for the computer if you have one.If you don't do not have a recovery disk for the computer you can use the operating system disk to repair it,please follow these steps:insert the operating system disk into the drive, restart the computer, press F12 and choose boot from CD save and exit.As the computer loading it will ask you to press any key to boot from CD, press any key, a blue screen will appear while its loading, when it get to the first set of options you will press enter to continue. when it get to the second set of options it will ask you to install the operating system or repair it, choose repair and follow the steps from there, this should solve the problem. But should backup your files before doing this even though no file will be lost but its better to backup just in case something goes wrong.

I always have a blue screen what should i do? and after that it automatically restart then it let me choose to safe mode and current settings and it goes well again. can anyone help me with this problem...

Blue screens mostly appear because of a hard ware issue. A device in your system has a problem.
Most likely there is a problem with the FAT, File allocation table of your HDD. Suggest you back up all your data to CD/DVD disk or to a second drive if you have a second HDD in your system.
The most common files to back up are:
C:\Documents and Settings\ User name\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book
C:\Documents and Settings\ User name\Desktop
C:\Documents and Settings\ User name\Favorites
C:\Documents and Settings\ User name\Local Settings\Identities
C:\Documents and Settings\ User name\My Documents

Every blue screen usually shows some type of error message. Write down the information shown on your screen. Than search Microsoft's web site for a possible work around to fix your error message/Blue screen. If you are unable to find a fix through Microsoft you can try the command: C:\ fixmbr. As your system begins to start up press the F5 key on your keyboard every 2 seconds. Windows will display a bunch of options. Using the keyboards up & down arrow keys move to highlight: Safe Mode With Command prompt. Press the enter key.
At the command prompt type, C:\space fixmbr & press the enter key. Than restart your system by pressing the keys, ctrl+alt+delete Your system should restart. If you still receive the blue screen you'll have no choice but to load your windows CD & format your drive. Than install windows fresh. If your hard disk drive is large enough, say 100 to 250GB in size. You can load your windows CD into your CD-ROM drive & boot to the Win CD. Read each screen. You want to create a partition within the free space of your drive. By doing the above you will not need to back up your data. Once your system seems to function you can delete the old partition by running, diskmgmt.msc in your windows run window.

Cheers!
Mike

On a pc that I use only as the connection for a printer, i am getting a dark blue screen that says:ASUS P4VP-MX Del to run setup. However, it will not respond at all. Turned off computer and got same...

If you still have your manual open to page 1-15 section 1.11
Set the bios jumper to pins 2&3 for a few seconds. Than move the jumper back to pins 1&2 (Normal). Boot your system & enter the bios menu. Reset all your settings, save & exit. If you still receive a blue screen chances are there is an issue with your hard disk drive or another device within the system. You can also try pressing the F5 key during boot up & choose Safe mode with command prompt. C:\space fixmbr press enter
If you are unable to do anything you'll have no choice but to reinstall windows. Blue screens usually show an error message of sorts.

Good luck!
