Cpu didnot run ,i cant find any signel on my cpu every thing is ok but there is a problems in motherboard what should i do ?


A) With great tact and diplomacy;
Do not refer to a Personal Computer as a CPU.

CPU = Central Processing Unit.
Another term is Microprocessor, or simply Processor for short.
CPU = Processor

B) Because of the method you used to refer to the Computer, I do not know if you're talking about; the PROCESSOR did not start, or the Computer.

C) If I we are to believe this is a reference to the Computer;

1) Check the Power Supply voltages,
OR
2) Substitute the Power Supply; with a KNOWN to be working, Compatible power supply, for a temporary test unit.

Why?
A) If ALL the LED lights were on at once, they would use less than 1 Watt of power.

B) EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts of power.

C) A typical Processor can use 51 to 125 Watts of power.
Just depends on what Processor it is.

A Power Supply with a weak voltage power rail, will not have enough power to turn the Processor on.

However I am still confused by the statements;
1) "CPU did not run"

Does this mean the COMPUTER did NOT turn on, which implies the Power Supply did not turn on;

OR,

Does this mean LED lights came on, fans may be spinning, but Windows does not load?

2) "I can't find any signal on my Computer........"
Signal = Voltage.

To see if there were voltages going through the motherboard, you wouldn't be posting on here. You would know how to take a multimeter, and test them.

Means to me you see No Signal on the monitor.

D) Are you FOLLOWING Anti-Static Procedures?

E) Power Supply voltages prove to be good, or you are using a KNOWN to be good, Compatible power supply?

Disconnect EVERYTHING from the motherboard.

NO cables to the motherboard, EXCEPT the 24-pin ATX main power cable,

[NOTE* Color of connector does NOT matter ]

,and the 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable,

Disconnect the data cable AT THE motherboard, for the Harddrive, and optical drive/s. (CD/DVD drive)
Disconnect the power cables to them also.

Disconnect ANY USB front panel cables.

LEAVE processor fan wire connected to motherboard.

You want the Processor, finned Heatsink sitting on it, and the Processor fan.
ONE stick of Ram Memory in Slot 1. (DIMM 1)

Leave graphics card in, IF used; or monitor is connected to the VGA port on the motherboard. (D-Sub connector)

Turn the Power Supply on.
You should be able to bring the BIOS Setup screen up.

If no, consider the motherboard to be bad.

B - Processor Core Power Connector;
is the connector on the motherboard for the 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable.
Located close the motherboard top edge, left side. Yellowish 4-socket hole square connector.

2) D - CPU Fan Connector,
The Processor fan connector is white in color, 3-pin, and above the processor socket.

3) F - Main Power Connector,
The 24-pin ATX main power cable connector on the motherboard, is to the Right of the Ram Memory slots

4) N - Front Audio Connector, (Front Panel audio ports)
Red in color, 9-pin header, and is located below the white No.2 PCI slot, at the bottom of the motherboard.

5) P - System Fan Connector, (System Fan = Computer case fan)
White in color, 3-pin header, located below the No.2 PCI slot, at the bottom of the motherboard.

6) Q - IEEE 1394 Connector,
For the front panel Firewire (1394) ports.

Recently changed the power supply. There is no video output. Where can I download the motherboard schematic?

Scroll the page down to the top view illustration, and photo.

A) The motherboard uses a 24-pin ATX main power cable.
In the illustration the connector on the motherboard is on the right side.
It is an empty rectangular box with ATX Power Connector in it.

On the motherboard photo it is the rectangular white connector with two rows of 10 socket holes, and is to the bottom right of ram memory slot 2.

Ensure that the 24-pin ATX main power cable's connector, is locked into place on the motherboard's connector. The lock tab on the main power cable must be hooked over the tab on the motherboard connector. This ensures that the main power cable is in all the way.

B) The motherboard uses a 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable.
The connector on the motherboard is a white square connector, with 4 socket holes.

In the illustration it is to the bottom left corner of the Processor socket (LGA 775), and has ATX12V underneath it. This power cable's connector also has a lock tab.

Power TO the motherboard, that's it.

Power FROM the motherboard:

C) System Fan, and CPU (Processor) Fan.

Abbreviated as SYS_FAN, and CPU_FAN to the bottom left of the ATX12V connector.
(4-pin ATX +12 Volt connector on the motherboard)

The System Fan is the computer case fan.
CPU Fan is the Processor fan.

D) The four SATA headers on the bottom right in the photo, (Blue, Orange, Black, and White), are for the SATA data cables.
They connect to a SATA harddrive, or SATA optical drive. (CD/DVD drive)
(They are an L shaped connector inside, with 7 pins inside)

Power for these SATA devices comes from the Power Supply.
The Power Supply has SATA power cables.

(L shaped connector with 15 pins inside. The longer connector between a SATA data cable, and a SATA power cable )

Did you forget which SATA data cable plugs into where, on the motherboard?
Don't sweat it.

The beauty of SATA is that you can plug the harddrive's SATA data cable into ANY of the SATA headers (Connectors) on the motherboard, and BIOS will find it.
Same with a SATA optical drive, or any SATA device, for that matter.

IF, your SATA harddrive has a place on the back for BOTH, a SATA power cable, and a 4-pin standard Peripheral power cable, ONLY use the SATA power cable.

Using both will eventually burn out the SATA harddrive!

From there the main optical drive, (CD/DVD drive), has to have the audio cable plugged into the audio connector on the motherboard.
(Plus the power cable, and data cable, of course)

In the illustration this is the header down in the very far left corner, and located towards the bottom edge.
It has CD_IN marked underneath it.

In the photo it is the Black rectangular connector in the very far left corner.

If you didn't connect the 4-pin +12 Volt power cable, your Processor isn't getting any power.
No Processor operating, No computer.

No Signal on monitor.
(No video signal)

I have got a system with an Aopen motherboard which having only a 20 pin connector for smps connectivity. the Atx smps i have is is 24 pinned. i can connect the main line by splitting up the 24pin...


The actual Processor fan connects to the CPU Fan header on the mainboard. It's 4 small pins. It plugs in right near the CPU socket on the mainboard. Check the user manual for exact placement, you may download it from the AOpen website if you don't have one already.

Plug in the 20Pin connector if that is the most Pins that the mainboard will allow. Cable tie the other 4Pins back onto the 20Pin connector.

Then if there is additional 4Pin connector required by the mainboard for CPU power and you don't have that connector on you power supply, you will need to purchase a Molex to 4Pin CPU power connector. When you go to the computer store check with them that all is correctly connected.

if you only broke the connector for the cpu fan, why do you have to replace the motherboard? just cut the wires and solder them directly to the motherboard , if the pins have broke off, if the pins are still there then just bend them straight and put the fan plug on them

Hmmm.... mainly you have:
-20 or 24-pins connector, that is unique and goes directly to motherboard (powers motherboard and its components)
-4 or 8-pins connector that powers CPU
-the rest would be connectors for ROM (CD/DVD/BlueRay) and HDD devices (there are: molex and sata power conectors)

CPU fan that cam togther with my CPU has 3 pin conector, but the motherboard has 4 pin Conector. That dosent sems to work ut


The extra pin on the motherboard is for a speed sensor connection which your fan does not have. The plug on the fan cable has two plastic tabs which fit over a tab on the motherboard connector. Just line the tabs up and the plug will fit properly. The fourth pin on the motherboard just won't be used with your fan.
