    Hello...
I have a problem with my LG home theater, each time I put on it switches off itself after some seconds and then display "S-Protection".
I already disconnected all the speakers and every wires connected to the unit. And powered it on but still displayed the S-protection.
Does that means the home theater is faulty or what?
I can't understand and I need a solution, Please help me out...
    Thank you...

SOURCE: no sound though home theater when watching tv

There is an orange button on the remote, half way down in the middle. I belive it has orange lettering and says something like "TV-?" press that, and the sound should start to come through your speaker system. You can then use the original remote that came with your TV and turn the sound off on the TV to use just the theatre system. I noticed that if you use the TV speakers in conjunction with the theatre system, that it echo's.

SOURCE: Protection Problem on Samsung Digital Home Theater

Protect mode will kicking whenever a fault is detected.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.

Hi,how can i reset my LG 7.2 home theatre system? The unit keeps displaying (M-PROTECTION) please help me.

Protection can't be "reset". The condition that caused it has to be corrected. Protection is enabled if the audio output is driven too hard or speakers with the wrong impedance (or shorted) are connected. Failure of related components can cause protection to be enabled.

"S-Protection"

I have disconnected all wires from the back of player, and it still turns off and says "s-protection". If I unplug it and plug it back in, it will work for about 30 seconds then goes off. Would that mean there is a short inside the unit itself?

My LG LHT874 sound system stopped working. It has power and displays everything but when I turn the unit on it only stays on for about 5-10 seconds then it turns off. I took the shell off and determined...

Try labeling and disconnecting everything. See if the power stays on then. If it does, you're probably hitting some kind of protect. If not, you probably have a bad power supply. Try heating the circuit board where the power cable goes to with a blow dryer to see if any parts are bad. Sometimes the system will stay on if certain weak parts heat up.

When I turn the system on, The display reads "protection" and shuts off? Please help.

remove all of the speaker leads from the unit, plug in one at a time...could most likely be a shorted wire. or the volume is maxxed when you turn the unit on

Need help with HT-z410

When your home theater's display reads PROTECTION, it means the home theater is over heating and the unit will shut down to prevent any damage. This can happen if the unit is stacked along with other electronic devices or the unit is in an enclosed area that prevents the unit from cooling properly. To decrease the chance of overheating, relocate your home theater to a more open area.

If the home theater display reads PROTECTION every time you turn it on, no matter where or how the unit is placed, it needs service. To set up service call Samsung Customer Care at 1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864). Have your model number and serial number on hand to set up service.
