Always use Toshiba for drivers. They are guaranteed to work and are not similar but precise.

Make sure they have the same bluetooth stack, or at least a compatible stack.
To understand what it means, before you look up what stacks your devices have, look here:

How to replace Toshiba Bluetooth Stack on Microsoft

Bluetooth is named after 12th century Danish King Harald Blatand ("Bluetooth"), whose reign unified the Danes and Norwegians. Bluetooth technology "unites" the wireless devices over short to medium distances, so that your cell phone ring tones from your PC without a cable or you can call with a wireless headset. Some computers have their own Bluetooth driver, or stack, pre-installed. This pile of others changes the generic driver from Microsoft that need to connect some devices.

1. Disconnect all devices, the computer by turning it off or unplug it from your PC.

2. Click "Start" then "Control Panel" and "Add / Remove Programs". Search for "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba", click the Remove button and click "Yes" to confirm.

3. Restore access to Control Panel and click on "System (Performance and Maintenance)." Select the "Hardware" tab and click "Device Manager". Click the "+" sign next to "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" to expand. When "Motion Computing USB Bluetooth Adapter" from the list, right click and select "Uninstall."

4. Click "Start" and "Run." Type "% windir% \ inf" in the "Open" and click "OK". Check if a file "Bth.bak" or "Bth.inf.old" exists. If none are listed, go to Step 5. If any of these files exist, right-click, choose "Rename" and rename it to "Bth.inf."

5. Restart the computer and the Microsoft Bluetooth drivers are loaded by default. Find the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar. If you cannot see, click "Start" and then "Run." Type "bthprops.cpl" in the "Open" and click "OK" to close the Bluetooth devices and select the options your Bluetooth device.
How do I restart a Bluetooth Stack?

Bluetooth is a wireless technology used primarily to connect a serial cable to be replaced by automatically connecting two associated equipment which are close to each other. Microsoft Windows 7 operating system includes support for Bluetooth devices using drivers typically supplied by the Bluetooth device. When a Bluetooth device that is configured to associate a computer with Windows 7 is disconnected from the computer, restart the Bluetooth stack to solve the problem quickly in many cases.

1. Click the "Start", click "Control Panel" and double-click Administrative Tools.

2. Double-click "Services" item in the list. The "Services" window will appear.

3. Click here to see the "Bluetooth Support Service" to highlight it and click the "Restart" on the left side list of services.
Found this on the Newegg website. Hope this helps.
If you want to go Bluetooth wireless (and you should) be aware that you must use the Toshibia Bluetooth "Stack" driver and not the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack driver on Window's PC's. I found this out by going to Canon's website and downloading the "full" online manual. It has a very nice section on setting up Bluetooth. Anyway, no problem as newegg has a very nice "Zoom" brand Bluetooth PC-Card for laptops that uses the Toshiba Drivers. Just pop in the CD that comes with the PC-Card and follow directions. You can go to Toshiba's website and download latest "stack" driver later. It's a little tricky to get the upload to "take" but it will work. Newegg should offer the PC-Card as an optional bundle (with the printer)like they do the Canon printer's Bluetooth adapter. This way you get everything you need and know that they all work together. I wish newegg sold the battery too.

Can i hook my emerson bluetooth up to my computer

Yes, IF your computer has Bluetooth software and either a built-in Bluetooth radio or a USB Bluetooth dongle.

If you are running Microsoft Windows, then you have the Bluetooth Stack (software) and just need a radio and driver or a Microsoft USB dongle to activate the stack.

How do i set up bluetooth connectivity

Hi,

If you have Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or 3 installed on the computer, then the computer has the Microsoft Bluetooth Protocol Stack. The Microsoft stack allows you to install an external Bluetooth adapter automatically. If the Bluetooth adapter supports the Microsoft stack but it does not install automatically, then you do not have the Microsoft stack on the computer.

>>Make sure that you have installed the HP All-in-One software on the computer.

>>Attach an HP Bluetooth adapter to the front USB port of the HP All-in-One.

>>If you are using an external Bluetooth adapter for the computer, make sure the computer is on and then attach the Bluetooth adapter to a USB port on the computer. If you have Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or 3 installed, the Bluetooth drivers are installed automatically. If you are prompted to select a Bluetooth profile, select HCRP.

>>
On the Windows taskbar, click Start , and then click Printers and Faxes .

>>Double-click the Add Printer icon.

>>Click Next , and then select A Bluetooth Printer .

>>Follow the onscreen instructions to finish the installation.

>>Print as you would to any printer.

Regards
Riztech.

Seems like the Bluetooth Stack that you have is a licensed software, you may need to buy a license or switch to a free stack like the Windows stack, which will require a Microsoft dongle to activate.

Adding bluetooth to toshiba laptop

Well,I'm not really an expert on Bluetooth, but let me try...

Which version of Windows are you running? If you have Windows XP SP2 or above, the Microsoft Bluetooth stack should be installed on your system. First make sure that the Kensington bluetooth adapter is compatible with the printer and the OS. From what I heard Canon sell a separate Bluetooth adapter for about $80 for this, but I'm not too sure.

Secondly, ensure that the built-in Bluetooth Stack or Software has the required Profile for your printer.

Next, put your printer in "discover" mode (see printer manual for more info ). Use the Bluetooth Connection Utility software that came with the built-in Bluetooth stack to "discover" the printer. Follow the instructions by the Bluetooth stack manufacturer on how to pair and connect Bluetooth devices to your built-in Bluetooth stack.

Please also see THIS article. although it is meant for the Logitech DeNovo keyboard, it can be used for any Bluetooth enabled devices. (Just replace the DeNovo wit your printer in the article.

But mainly, make sure that the Kensington adapter is compatible...

Hope that helps..
