What is happening with AOL? I have been having lots of pop ups, slow computer and AOL telling me they are having problems? My computer very slow?

Is you computer slow when using software offline? If so, it is either AOL or your internet. Don't judge the speed strictly by going to AOL. Go to Speakeasy Speed Test and test your internet speed. If that shows your internet is running at the speed you are paying for, it si AOL having trouble. You don't say which browser you are using, but most browsers have an option to block pop-ups. Make sure it is on.
Run a virus scan on your PC to see if it is infected. Also defrag your hard drive to speed it up some.

My buddy can't see my avatar for some reason. Why is that?

Could be a slow internet connection. That avatar stuff has a lot of data to be sent across the net, and the update might be so slow that you can't see the avatar.

Aol problem

try downloading the installer from aol.com. I had the same problem. I made sure aol was all uninstalled and then deleted it from the files. also had to reset IE to get rid of sol toolbar. Honestly, if you have dsl through someone else, it is better to just check it online at aol.com and leave their voluminous installation off your computer.

Configuring my aol mail to outlook 2003 I want to use Outlook to send a email newsletter,I think I can send it in outllk where ,the newsletter will open ,when the email is opened in Outlook ,with aol. I...

Aol uses proprietary software, I have never used it as it takes over your computer slows everything down and is a pain in the neck in general. I doubt that outlock which is a pop3 email program is going to work with AOL, unless they have updated their system. The best thing that you can do is to remove it from your machine, and use the MSFT outlook or outlook express. Or even Gmail oe Hotmail if you like that web based format. To set uo your outlook, just launch the program and use the wizard in outlook or outlook express to run you through the setup process. It will need the settings that you got from your ISP, like the names of the incoming and outgoing servers, if aol is your high sped provider it will have a name like xxx.aol.com, and smtp.aol.com, then your name and email address with password, then you won't need that aol stuff. I just used aol as an example, like for example something like secureserver.secure.net, and smtp.comcast.net, and they will be pop3 servers, aol is a web based like a web page, not an application, outlook is just far superior in every way, on your isp'd home page you should find all the info, under setting up your email, good luck

AOL broadband connection

The answer is very simple ... Uninstall the AOL browser, you do not need it to connect to the internet, AOL's browser, as I have discovered chokes your bandwidth and slows down your PC. I would strongly recommend using something like Firefox (you can add the AOL toolbar if needed). I removed AOL's browser over a year ago and have not had a single problem, bespite the fact that AOL insist I must have it installed on my PC ... Absolute rubbish.
