Battery Problem and signal problem

I have a mobile of O2 (i-mate) and i would like to know the service center of that in india. As the Signal Strength is very very low and the battery back up is also low..

If the device has worked for you in other locations, the most likely answer is that you have low signal strength from your network carrier to your device. To test if low signal strength is the problem, try moving your laptop to another location, closer to the cell tower you think might be servicing you to see if it starts working. If your laptop connect software has the ability to show you the signal strength, look to see how many dBm the signal strength is. The larger the negative number, the worse it it. Below -85 dBM, you will have frequent drop outs.
-75 to -80 dBm should give you usable results. -65 dBM and lower should give you very good results. If you can only find the strength in bars, 1 or 2 bars is bad, 3 bars marginal, 4 & 5 bars useful to good. You can buy repeater devices which pick up cell signals and rebroadcast them, making them stronger for you laptop to pick up the cell signal. They usually have an external antenna port which you can put outside and high to help pull in the signal. Trees, hills, and rain all block and lower the signal strength between you and the cell tower. Distance is also a big factor.

TRAVELLING WITH A MOBILE PHONE

According to a recent survey, more than half of all travellers now travel with a mobile phone. And with the added convenience a mobile phone can bring to your trip, this is hardly surprising.

To ensure that you’ll be able to use your phone abroad you’ll first need to enable international roaming with your mobile phone operator. If your mobile phone is on a contract this won’t be a problem, but some pay-as-you-go mobile plans don’t allow this feature.

It’s a good idea to check what you’ll be charged for using your mobile abroad, for calls and texts. Some operators will also charge you to receive calls whilst you are out of your own country as well, so bills can add up without a call even being made!

REDUCING YOUR MOBILE COSTS WHILE TRAVELLING

If you are planning a long stay in any particular country, it may work out cheaper to buy a local sim card at your destination. Some operators don’t allow you to switch sim cards, and will lock your phone - your operator will be able to give you more information on this. Alternatively, some independent phone retailers will be able to unlock handsets for you.

Your mobile phone will pick up the strongest network while you are abroad. As this won’t necessarily be the cheapest network you may want to do some local research and look into changing your phone’s settings to pick up the cheapest network.


MOBILE PHONE SECURITY WHILE TRAVELLING

Make sure that your phone details are registered with your mobile operator before you travel. If your phone is stolen, contact your customer service department and give them your mobile number and IMEI/serial number so that your operator can suspend your number. Report your loss to the local police and get written confirmation with a crime number for your insurance claim.

THE PHONE KEEPS ON POWERING OFF BY ITSELF

Ensure that the battery has been charged. Take the battery in and out of the phone again. Try another battery in the phone if you have access to one. If this does not work it may be liquid damaged or have a software problem.

If you drop your mobile phone in liquid never try switch it on immedeatly. You need to dry it out first as the short circuit from trying to switch on a wet mobile phone could do more damage then the liquid damage itself

-You’ll need a tri-band phone if you’re travelling to the US or Canada
-Your international access number may vary between countries
-Save important numbers in your mobile phone before you travel
-Take a travel adapter with you to make sure you can charge your phone
-Research the cheapest local networks on arrival
-Make sure you know how much you’re paying to make and receive calls and texts
-Keep a record of your mobile phone’s IMEI/serial number and phone number, in case of theft
-Mobile phones can be a top target for petty theft, so make sure you don’t flash it around too much!


Why is my Nokia phone asking for a PUK code?

The PUK code is an 8-digit code from your service provider used to change a disabled Personal Identification Number (PIN) code. The PUK code will be requested when an incorrect PIN is entered multiple times. Please contact your service provider for this PUK code.

If you have already contacted your service provider and the PUK code provided did not work, it will be necessary to obtain a new Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Card from your service provider. The PUK code is used to protect your phone from unauthorized access and if multiple attempts at entering the PUK code occur, the SIM card will become inactive for your protection.


MY PHONE DOES NOT RING

Please try the following troubleshooting tips:

Ensure that your phone is powered on and that there is sufficient signal strength. When you are at the start screen or in a call, the strength of the radio signal is indicated by the signal indicators on the left side of your phone''''s display. These indicators move up as the strength of the signal increases and down as the signal decreases.
If there is a headset attached to the phone, it will not ring. You should be able to hear the ringing through the headset. Detach the headset and retest the phone to determine if that resolves the issue.


Check to see if the phone is in the "Silent" profile. If the phone is in the "Silent profile", change the "Silent" profile to the "Normal" profile and retest. To change your profile, please refer to your user guide.


Ensure that a ring tone has been enabled and the volume is not too low. (Please follow the instructions in your user guide.)
If your phone goes straight to voice mail without ringing and your phone is powered on and you have sufficient signal strength, your service provider may need to reset your voicemail services.
If your phone still will not ring, please submit your phone to repair so they may try to resolve the issue for you.


MY PHONE IS POWERING OFF ON ITS OWN

Ensure that the battery has been charged. Please refer to your user guide for charging instructions. Remove the battery and replace.

Check if you have the correct battery for your phone. If you do not have the correct battery, please return to your point of purchase to obtain the correct battery for your phone or purchase the appropriate battery for your phone.

If you have access to another battery and charger of the same type as yours, try substituting them to determine if the issue is with the phone, battery or charger. Your phone may also have a software problem or be liquid damage in which case you have to send it or drop it in for repair.

I CANNOT MAKE A CALL ON MY PHONE

Before you even start trouble shooting ask yourself whether your phone may be barred from the network if it is stolen or the account holder did not pay their bill....If this is not the case then ensure that your phone is powered on. Hold the power button down for a full 3 seconds. (The power button is often located on the top of your phone. Please refer to your user guide for the location of the power button for your specific phone).
Confirm that your service is active. If you are unsure, contact your service provider.

Check that you have sufficient network signal strength. When you are at the start screen or in a call, the strength of the radio signal is indicated by the signal indicators on the left side of your phone's display. To increase your phone's signal strength, try moving your phone slightly, or move towards a window if you're calling from inside a building.

WHAT IS THE SECURITY CODE ON THE PHONE.

If you have forgotten your security code, or the security code is not working on a Nokia phone, please try the following:

The factory default security code is 12345. The default lock code is 1234. If you entered a wrong code three or more consecutive times, the phone may switch to a "sleep mode" and not accept any entries for the next 15 minutes. Please power the phone off, then back on, and let it sit idle or untouched for 15 minutes, then try again. If this does not work we can flash the phone for you but you will loose the data. You have to have proof of ownership for us to do this for you.

Mine is W595 model , the problem is that my mobile gets cut whenever i talk , its like the mobile when i'm in call receives very less signal and eventually turns out to be no signal at al for some...


Hi,

The strength of your signal depends on your where you are. This is because the service of your network provider is poor in your locality.

Try move to another locality where the signal of your network is strong and you will see the call will not cut.

My mobile is not getting network so what i want to


Hi,

You cannot do anything for this problem.This problem is because of the structures around your home.The walls around your home is blocking/interfering with the signal coming inside and the mobile is unable to pick up the signal.

Please try this code

*#3370# - Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR) activation. Increase signal strength, better signal reception. It also help if u want to use GPRS and the service is not responding or too slow. But phone battery will drain faster though.

*#3370* - (EFR) deactivation code

If it doesnt work then you cannot do anything else.

there will be some antenna problem in your mobile. So please service your mobile from any authorised service center .. This problem will get solved...Hope you will succeed...

i want to format my o2 xda orbit , just because i am unable to use internet via wifi , previously it was working fine, i am unable to receive or send any text message don't know why , whenever i receive a message from any one it only displays "the content of this message cannot be displayed" , i am unable to change my clock function , cannot access alarm , it happens when last night my battery was low so my mobile gets shut down , as i turned it up the alarm rings but on the main menu reminder is coming and i am unable to exit it. please help me out from these problems. O2 xda atom mobile problem


This is the most common problem with all the mobile phones. You can fix the same on your own. I advice you to buy a alcohol based cleaner (WD40) and clean the battery leads as well the leads on the phone. Then take out the panel and clean the ringer speaker terminals with the same. Make sure the battery should be good enough to retain the charge to drive the phone.

Call disconnected when battery around 60%->80%


might be a problem with battery of phone so try by changing battery or consult ur service  provider abt. network signals at a particular time or try by inserting stylus lightly at the hole at bottom corner of ur handset .
