Question about Fisher-Price Kid Tough Digital Camera
I downloaded the software from the fisher price site, but when I plug the camera to my computer, nothing happens. I try clicking on the software and it tells me to plug up my camera. The camera shows that it is connected to a USB but my computer is not. I have Windows 8
The camera should not need software to connect to the computer. It should be "Plug & Play". Try plugging the camera into a different USB port (look on the back of the computer). The software is only needed to customize the pictures. Ensure the camera is turned on after plugging in the USB cable. If no result, open the Control Panel and look at the Scanners and Camera settings.
If you know how to view the devices using Device Manager, open it and look for any yellow highlighted icons. If you have any highlighted icons, then that is where the trouble lies.

Testimonial: "I only have 2 ports. My tower is inside my monitor so there are no additional ports. There aren't any highlighted icons in the device manager and the computer did not find any devices whenever I went to add a new one."
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

The camera has to plugged into a usb 1.1 port, it will not work with a usb 2.0 port. Try using the additional usb ports on a monitor or keyboard. Otherwise you will need to use a usb 1.1 Hub.

This is a solution for getting a working camera, not really to get your camera working. I phoned Fisher Price and was told to format the camera. Turn camera off, plug into USB, right click on the camera drive in my computer and choose format. When this didn't work for me, they sent me a mailing label to send the camera back so they could send me a new one. The formatting is worth a try, and at least you get a new camera when it doesn't work.

It seems the files are write protected. Do you have an external memory card in the camera? If so, you might have the memory card's lock on. Remove the memory card from the camera and switch the lock off.

Hi, you can download the manual for the camera here:
Under "Instruction manual for this product" click the "Download the manual" link. (If it doesn't work in Internet Explorer, try downloading it in Firefox.)
