I had the same problem with a warranty'd replacement. Most carriers will send you REFURBISHED units as replacements, as was the case in my situation. It vibrated when I first got it, but after a few calls/messages the vibrating mechanism inside slowed to a stop and wouldn't work anymore. I had them ship me a replacement for my replacement. That one is now acting up, so I'll be on to replacement number 3.

Good luck. I'd have them ship you a new one, if it were me.

As dijikul suggests it could be a hardware fault or profile settings. If you check your profile settings, by going to profile, scroll to the bottom of the submenu and select advanced.

In the next menu - select your active profile and edit select one of the features you would previously have associated with the vibrate function and check both out of and in holster settings for vibrate.

Okay, I couldn't find my BlackBerry phone charger for like four months, and when I got a new one I forgot the password. I only have TWO more chances to unlock it and I DON'T want to lose anything...

There is no chance you can get that picture or doing backup process unless your blackberry curve 8300 unlocked. That's the feature of RIM security system, try to remember your password and if you confident with that password then try to make your blackberry unlocked. Good luck and I hope you succeed.

Phone kept on vibrating, as soon as the battery is in place

You should take the phone to a repair shop and have the techs look at it for you...blackberries do vibrate when the battery is inserted back into the phone but if this is on-going then have it looked at.

Does not ring - only vibrates

A couple of solutions to avoid doing a full software re-install.

Check your profile settings - From home screen, Profile, Advanced, Active, Edit, Phone - Check both in and out of holster to make sure the tone is active in both. If not change the settings.

Let me know how that works - there are a couple of things to look at and suggest before a re-install.

When set to vibrate+tone all I get is vibrate.

I had the identical problem, and was about to replace my unit. When I popped the SIM card and battery back in, the problem was solved. Basically a hard reset. Don't know whether it made a difference, but I left it out overnight. Hope this works for you.

Blackberry 8300 curve

Turn your vibrate off. The curve vibrates before it rings, it won't vibrate and ring at the same time. So with the vibrate off, you will gain about 10-15 seconds of ring time.
