You can probably repair this by removing the fittings and replacing any plastic compression rings with new ones. Everything else can be cleaned with grade "0000" steel wool. This will get rid of any deposits without damaging the surfaces. ! or @ careful wraps of Teflon Tape to the MALE threads will help get a good seal.

Hi

Please try and remove the cap by turning it clockwise and counter clock wise to remove it. If it doesn't come off then empty the water dispenser and use glue to fix the leak. See this link to see which type of glue should be used--- Glue Usage

Turn off the electric and drain the tank. Completely remove the exit valve that is leaking and clean up the threads on the valve and in the hole. Get some plumbers dope and dope up the fitting threads and the threads in the hole and then reattach the exit valve. As a real precaution you may consider taking the plastic valve to the hardware store and getting a replacement one. Also dope that one up good.

SOURCE: Hot water tank leak

drain valve must have already been leaking, that's why someone put the cap on. It's ok to cap the drain but never the pressure/temp relief. If the water is coming out of the drain (not around it) you could either replace the cap or the drain valve to stop the leak - otherwise it's time for a new water heater.

I am looking for magnesium anode rod for an electric Ruud pacemaker 10 gallon water heater model# PEP 10-1 and serial # 0598304245. Do you know the parts number? Bill

no
try contacting the manufacturer for the part or talk with a plumber supplies shop ( where plumbers get their supplies and parts ) to see if it is available
it will be a sacrificial rod to prevent the tank from corroding out especially around the heating element fittings

Drain valve plastic slow leak 81V-80D

If the drip is coming out of drain valve: Put a hose cap over end of drain valve.
If water is seeping out of cracked drain vale, then replace it.
If the leak is seeping around previously sealed threads, then tank may be rusted beyond repair.

Ruudglss Pacemaker electric water heater; still produces hot water, but the hot water last (in shower) for a much shorter time. The most likely cause is.?

Suspects include: Sediment in tank, shorting breaker, bad lower element, bad thermostat, water leak causing hot water to run out of tank:

Suspects that are excluded: Tank is not overheating, upper element is good, ECO reset button is not tripped, insulation and thermostat covers are present.

My Rhem Ruud G76-200 water heater leaking from below? Can this be repaired?

If it is actually leaking from the bottom of the heater, then it cannot be repaired. Have you looked to see exactly where the water is coming from? Sometimes a leak at the top of the heater, will then leak through the insulation and out the bottom. Another possible source could be from the temperature/pressure relief valve leaking and coming out of the down pipe that goes near the floor or drain. Try to find the source of the leak. It is not practical or safe to repair a tank that is leaking.
