The 6TO4 and ISATAP Adapters have stopped.

When I opened the Device Manager in my Laptop, there's a yellow exclamation point showing that the 6TO4 and ISATAP Adapters in Networking have stopped. I've tried enabling them and even did a Restoring to a previous point, but all to no luck. Its really frustrating when my computer is only 3 weeks old. Can somebody please HELP this Newbie in the technical world. Thanks.

Hi,
You don't mention what laptop you have, but if you browse to the laptop manufacturers website, eg. www.hp.com, they always have driver downloads for their products.
Download the drivers for your laptop and reinstall these to get your network card working.
Feel free to ask me for any further assistance regarding this matter.
Best wishes,
Graemevm

Need new download of ISATAP drivers

Greetings,

On a Windows Vista-based computer, the Microsoft ISATAP adapter appears with a yellow exclamation mark (!) next to it in Device Manager.
You can safely ignore this error message. This error message does not indicate a problem with the adapter. The adapter will continue to work correctly.
Check out this article for more information on this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932520
If this is still not working,
First try to reset Winsock from command prompt, this will reset all the Network components to default:
Click on start, type CMD,'Right click and Run as Administrator'.
At the command prompt type:
netsh winsock reset catalog
In such a case, I suspect this problem to be caused by network adapter missing or corrupt. Please firstly reinstall the driver for your wireless network adapter. Then try to reinstall Microsoft ISATAP using following steps:
1.In Device Manger, right-click the item of Microsoft ISATAP and select Uninstall.
2.Still in Device Manager, click Action and select Add legacy hardware.
3.Click Next, and select Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced), click Next.
4.Select Network Adapters and click Next.
5.Select Microsoft in left panel and Microsoft ISATAP Adapter in the right panel.
6.Click Next and finish the remaining wizard.

In Device Manager, under Network Adapters I find a new entry called "Microsoft ISATAP Adapter".The yellow explanation mark indicating a problem is present. Status shows "Windows is unable...

Hi.
Let me explain you about the Microsoft ISATAP Adapters.
ISATAP (Intra-Site Automatic Tunnel Addressing Protocol) is an IPv6 transition mechanism meant to transmit IPv6packets between dual-stack nodes on top of an IPv4 network.
It is a Windows Operating System Generic Driver.
This Driver will be installed automatically.

As this is a Windows default Driver, it has no specific functions.
As you are able to view the "yellow exclamation mark", you may just un-install the Driver..
This should not change the functionality of the Computer.
1) Right-click on the "ISATAP Adapter" in the Device Manager. 2) Then, click on "Un-install". 3) This should un-install the Driver. 4) Once you have done the above steps, restart the Computer for the settings to be enabled.
Performing the above steps should resolve the issue.
Hope this helps.
Please feel free to contact for further information and assistance.

6T04 Adapter failure

That 6to4 adapter has been a problem for as long as I have been aware of it but I only have that issue when I use my print server. I don't believe the 6to4 is your actual wireless. Are you using a wireless print server?

In the Control Panel, update the drivers. If still unsuccessful, delete those adapters, restart your workstation and reinstall drivers. Helpful to have another workstation nearby in case you need to download the drivers from the Internet.

Yellow exclamation mark over the network adapter- 6To4 adapter. When I uninstalled and restarted my computer the adapter was not reinstalled. Sony laptop with Vista 32 OS.

the yellow exclamation mark indicates that the driver is not installed... run the installation disk once again install the adapter .. if unable to install with cd then, right click on the adapter from device manager and click update driver and manually update the driver ... it should work
