SOURCE: Have a ct87k. Got power at wall. Plug t-stat nothing.switches are both off for gas.

Those normally do not fail, they have a mercury switch in them. However there is a cravat they have to be mounted level and up side up. If that is the way it is mounted then just replace it.

Out thermosat for our furnace and air conditioners will not work. There is no poweer going tot he thermostat at all.

Hi, if you have no power to the stat, go to the furnace if this is a split system. Depending on the year you have, this unit may have the main circuit board with a 3 to 5 amp control fuse plugged into it. If this is what you have, check this fuse, it is the same as the fuses in your car. If you don't have this circuit board, locate the transformer where your thermostat wires come in and check for power at both the 120 volt primary side ( power in ) and see if you have 24 volts coming out of the secondary side of it. If no power in, check the circuit breaker to the furnace. If there is power in and nothing out, the transformer is gone. Check close for any breaks in the stat wires at the furnace also. I may need to have the model and serial numbers, and if its a split gas fired or a heat-pump unit if this information does not apply to your unit. Let me know.

1. YOUR flyback is going bad 2. Peform a removal and replacement 3. check your error codes first to ensue nothing else exists 4. Proceed to change out the required parts 5. Generally what occurs is the units soldered connections on the main projection board warm up as the system warms up. Thus, the loose capacitors, resisters, and diodes are causing the CHANGE when the system warms up. When metal contracts, it expands thus losing the connection needed for a solid connection. This process is normal after the units have reached their service life. Keep in mind that you can repair this but at the expense of time if you have never performed this type of work.

If the gas has been off for a long time there may be air in the system preventing furnace from firing. Try to reset unit by turn power off and then on a few times and see if it clears out.

Central heat does not blow hot air, just warm air weakly

Sounds like some of the elements are not working. You being in Florida they may not have put very many elements in. It was 61 degrees last week. I know because I'm a Dolphin Fan. You will need a current sensing meter to check the elements.

Split unit, I get heat but no cold

I have run into this with the LG brand systems. try shutting power off to the outdoor unit to reset all units. If problem persists, it could have to do with a charge level of refrigerant (freon) or possibly a failed control board.

Main oven of cooker is on, fan is working, but not heating up. The top oven/grill is working.

Most likely a bad, open, heating element. Turn off power at breaker, remove element ohm with ohmmeter if good. its the thermostat or control. However, some units have resettable thermosats
