Hp flat screen monitor

My flat screen monitor keeps going blank on me. When i turn it off then on again, it comes on then goes blank in a few minutes. Is my monitor going out or can i fix it. I called a few people about getting it fixed, but it would cost me almost as much to repair it as it would to buy a new one.

I have the same problem. There are days when it works fine for hours without going blank, but sometimes it will do it minutes after startup. For example, I turn the computer and the monitor on in the morning and then two minutes later it goes out. I turn the monitor off and then on and it works for a minute and blanks out.

I have the same trouble with mine. I tried a new power supply 400w it didn't resolve the issues. I connected it to my lap top and it did the same thing. sometimes it will stay on for hours and sometimes seconds. it seems like when it refreshes.... I think that a new one is the answer.

Just started yesterday. Screen goes black after 2-3 seconds. I can see shadows in the background but can't make anything out. When I turn the monitor off and back on I get a good screen for another 2-3 seconds then the same thing happens.

Just a note - the original power supply output is 12VDC at 4.16A
If you don't use the powered output for speakers (12VDC at 1A), then the 3A output supply should be fine.

It's probably your dc power supply.

Mine would blank just 2-3 seconds after power-on.
I pulled this monitor out of the garbage - someone threw it away. I found any old 12vdc power supply I had laying around (1 from an hp scaner 1250mA, another rated at 600mA) neither could supply the current (amps) required to run the backlights, therefore backlights shutdown, monitor goes blank--monitor stilled powered on, but black.

I tried all of the disassembly, re-solder various solder joints on the LCD Inverter board and removing the heat/magnetic shield from inside the back cover of the monitor. Nothing worked.

I bought a Segate 80gb external hard disk drive that came with a 12vdc power supply, looks like a typical laptop power supply, rated at 3A (3000mA). Plugged it to the monitor, it powered up, and it works flawlessly.

If you get a flashing screen which show your screen for few minutes and then goes blank it may be an issue with the Monitor.

Try to restart the computer and go to BIOS setup screen. If you experience the same issue in BIOS then the monitor needs a repair or replacement for sure.

Asus Monitor boes blank and comes back after power recycle

1. You can see images on the screen for a few minutes. That means there is nothing wrong with your computer.

2. When your screen goes blank, if you disconnect and then reconnect the monitor, it shows fine again for a few minutes before going blank (or dim) again. That means the problem is not with you video card.

3. It always shows the image after reconnection for exactly a few minutes before going blank again. yes? this means that there is nothing wrong with your cable.

Conclusion: Sorry, but you do not have many options. I bleieve that the problem is with your monitor that's going bad. Its far cheaper to get it replaced than to repair it.

Hp flat panel monitor comes on shows logon and then blank screen

Ok, another words, monitor powers up for few seconds and shuts down by itself. If green LED on the front panel turns off as well or stays on?
If stays on, then inverter turns into protection mode because of old backlight lamps.
If it turns off in same time with an image on the screen, then there are some bad electrolytic capacitors in the power supply.

Multisync LCD 1700V turns on then screen goes blank and shuts off

Does the power light stay on? If so, you have an inverter problem. If the power light goes off, you have a power supply problem.

The W1907 goes blank when i turned the monitor off and then on

I would say don't turn off the monitor at the switch at all unless you are not going to use it for a long time. I just leave mine switched on and the power save blanks the screen if I am away from it for 20 minutes. I leave my PC switched on all the time as well. If I need to use it for any reason it takes ages for it to start up fully so it's more convenient to just leave it all going so it's ready when I need it. If away from the PC for a day or more switch it off but I keep going back to it all day and night so it's easier for me to leave both on all the time.

HP Pavilion F1503 1503 15in Flat. screen blanks out constantly

THis is a problem of the invertor board. If you are technically able you need to disasseble the monitor and resolder components around the red or yellow inverter transformers.
