How do I open my cool pix battery door when it appears to be stuck?

mine is a CoolPix 4500. Looking down on the battery door the

release catch operates inwards towards the camera body.

mine has 2 metal tongues that engages with loops on the body to

lock the battery compartment. could be corrosion in the latch.

mine comes to bits with 3 small phillips screws but only accessible

from the inside! A very gentle spray with WD40 might help, best plan

spray a little into the cap and then apply sparingly with a sharpened

matchstick, leave to stand for a while, the body on mine is not

plastic but aluminium/magnesium alloy which could give corrosion

problems especially with salt water? if it is metal could zap it with a bit

of heat from a soldering iron be careful and patient a very fine bit of kit

How to Open to refill a Reusable Acrylic Pepper & Salt Mill

Hello. This is about opening an acrylic pepper and salt mill or pepper grinder so that you may refill this kitchen utensil. One will usually find that the chrome knob on top of the pepper mill is used to open the pepper mill can be too difficult to open, because one cannot grip the chrome knob on top of the pepper mill to open. I am going to offer three different options for opening a pepper mill:
1) Use a pair of work gloves with specialize dripping material on finger tips. Hold top bulb while turning chrome knob counter clockwise.
2) A small nut wrench with cellophane tape on chrome knob to above marring chrome knob.
3) Get a wrench and a towel. Fit folded towel in jaws of wrench and place towel and open wrench on chrome knob and turn counter clockwise. Practice on a pine dowel to know appropriate pressure to use to avoid marring the chrome knob. If you can replace the chrome smooth knob with a grip friendly knob, if possible.

Finally, do not over tighten knob just finger tight.

To load batteries, unscrew bottom. Once open, load fresh batteries. If mill fails to operate, unscrew bottom again and flip wire bale in opposite direction.

Have all in one electronic Wolfgang puck salt and pepper mill. I can't figure out hot to open the top to replace the batteries. It does not work like the electronic sets (is a bit different).

batteries are in the bottom. unscrew bottom cap and pull metal ring to release battery pack. put in fresh batteries and return to casing. screw cap in place. if it does not work immediately, unscrew cap again and move metal wire to opposite side of battery pack and replace the cap again.

How to load peppercorns into trudeau 0716840

I found the following webpage on your grinder: www.shoptrudeau.com/v/vspfiles/images/instructions/0716840.pdf
Just in case the link doesn't work, it looks like the top (salt) part just pulls off the bottom, pepper grinder part. With the top off, there's a hole to pour the peppercorns into.

Stupid question but how do you refill the pepper grinder of the Octo Combo? I don't consider this an appliance since it doesn't use electricity or batteries but couldn't figure out another category for...

Hi, from the photos I see on the web, it looks like you hold the salt chamber and then unscrew the nut on the top of the unit. I would say that you need to then pour out the salt into a small container, and then grasp the bottom (pepper chamber) and pull up on the salt chamber to separate it from the bottom chamber. Fill the pepper chamber and then replace the salt chamber and fill with salt, replace salt cover and then replace nut. I hope this helps.
