Method 3 - Force Eject Next, you can try to to force eject the CD/DVD tray to open. Not all drives and burners have this feature. To check to see if yours does, look near the face of the CD/DVD drive and you should see a small hole.
Use a toothpick, bent paperclip, or needle to push the button. This may or may not pop open the drive. Many people have reported that this does not work. But some have reported that it does.

Tip

Force Eject

If a disc gets stuck in the recorder, there a few steps to try before the problem becomes service-related:

1. Power the unit off (so it shows the clock), then simply press the Open/Close button. The unit should power on and attempt to eject the disc.
2. If the above doesn't work - power it off again, then press and hold the STOP and CH UP button on the recorder itself together and hold them down until the unit powers up. This is called a force eject. If this doesn't work (usually if it's not going to work the recorder will simply come on momentarily then loop back into "bye" and go back to the clock), there is one last method to try.
3. Unplug the unit for 30 seconds. Press and hold the same buttons as above as you plug it in. After it performs the self-check "ooooo" across the screen it should do the force eject. If not, the unit requires service to be repaired and possibly the drive replaced.

My Toshiba VCR & DVD video recorder model D-VR4XSU won't eject a DVD disc from the player, neither by pressing the eject button on the remote nor by the eject button on the players console.

A temporary solution would be to use a paperclip to eject it; usually, any disk drive has a little hole that a paperclip can be stuck into which forces it to eject.

I placed a dvd in the driver the wrong way round wont eject

Hello Dear,

You can always eject the Drive bay, forcefully, if it is not eject by pressing eject button.
To do so, find the small hole just benethe the CD tray, get a needle like thing and insert it into the whole, you cd tray will come out, now you can get it out by holding it by hand.

Thanks

Repairing disc message won't go & DVD disc won't eject

By pressing the Power button for >10 seconds you can force the unit to turn off. Immediately as the unit does, press the disk eject button and the defective DVD can be removed. Don't put it back in, or the problem may repeat!

put the machine in standby mode (ie switch power button on machine or remote) then, press and hold the STOP and CHANNEL UP buttons simultaneously. This will force the disk tray to open.
