Hi, You need to remove the two screws at the lint screen. Then use a flat blade srew driver and insert it in the gap between the top and the front panel. Pry the top upward.
Locate the screws inside the front panel in the upper corners. After these have been removed, the front panel will come off lifting it up.
Now you can see the tub and the belt. If you have the wrapper the belt came in, you should be able to string the new belt. I hope this helps. If I can assist you mmore, please let me know.

Thanks
Vic

Kenmore 80 series dryer. was working fine, now

Hello. When ever a dryer will not turn the first thing to suspect is a broken dryer belt. lift the top on your machine and visually inspect the belt. If it is broken, it is easy to replace. Joe

How do I replace a dryer belt on Kenmore dryer

You have to practically completely disassemble the dryer and remove the drum. If you can't figure it out, you should call an expert. Sometimes getting it apart isn't bad, it's putting it all back together that gets you. ;-)

The drum of my Kenmore 80 series electric dryer is not turning

sounds like you need a new drum belt. start by taking the top off then the front panel will have screws inside for removing the front. then once the front is off you will see the motor and where the belt should be. if the belt is broken, replace it, if not just put it back on the motor and idler pulley.

Broken Kenmore dryer 80 series

Hi Dave. The problem is the drive belt. They aren't that difficult to replace and can be done with just a few tools. I'll need the exact model number off of the dryer to explain how to gain access to it, though. The number can be found behind the door on the cabinet (it'll start with 3 digits then a decimal point then more digits, like this; xxx.xxxxxxx)

The part number for the repair is 4392065. This is a complete maintenance kit for your dryer. I recommend it because since your belt wore out, there are other parts that should be taken care of at the same time. Here's a picture and a place to order if you can't find it locally.

My Kenmore 80 series dryer (64852) develops a buzzing sound while drying. Functionally it works just fine. However, after about 20min (this varies) of run time the dryer will usually begin to buzz. The buzzing seems to come and go for a short while and then becomes more constant. Then about 10min (give or take) before the dryer shuts off, the buzzing usually stops. It doesn't seem to matter what setting the dryer in on. (e.g. "Timed Dry", "Automatic Moisture Sensing") Often times when the dryer begins buzzing I can turn the dial back a bit and the buzzing usually stop for a short time. But it seems to pick up with the buzzing again before the dial reaches the same point where it began the first time. Also, because the buzzing remains fairly constant, and I get the impression that the thermostat is cycling things off and on like it should, I don't really think that this is an issue related to the heating element. Although I've been known to be wrong before. As far as I can tell it does have something to do with heat though, because the buzzing only seems to start after the machine has had time to run and warm up for a while and then stops during the last 10min when I assume the machine would be cooling down. Also, I keep the "End of Cycle Signal" in the OFF position all the time. When I have turned it on in the past it sounds distinctly different from the noise it make while drying. One more thing. The buzzing doesn't sound like vibrating parts to me. Thanks for any help you can give.
