Inside Light stays on and the Start Button will not work at all!

My GE Microwave stopped working after I put in a large pizza box and forced the door to close. The inside light stays on and the start button is "dead." What can I do?

You probably broke the door sensor switch.

The part must be tested before replacement.

Parts can be purchased from Partselect, Appliancespartspro, or Repairclinic. Have a look on google.

Interior light in microwave oven GE JTP90S0M1SS stays illuminated, turntable will not stop, and start button will not start

Your door switch is not working. The switch is a safety feature. So replace it that should fix all problems.

Start button an 1/2 buttons on keypad no work in my GE JVM150H microwave. Interior light also stays on.

The door has latch switches that are part of the protection and operation when door is closed, is the new door identical and switches match up {same number} if everything checks and the door switches are all working, the door needs to be checked for alignment, if it's out a small margin the switches will not operate properly.

If you use the microwave and forget to clear the time remaining. Or, if you just leave the food inside, the microwave will start itself in the Pizza mode. I guess it thinks the pizza needs to be reheated??...

You should have a 'clear' button on your oven.

Try to not open the door with the oven running. This causes arcing at the door safety interlock switches and they will fail.

You will know they failed when everything works but there is no "heat". No heat because the oven will think the door is open ... even though you know the door is closed.

Enjoy your new oven ... they are great. I dont know how the Mrs and I would eat if not for the mocrowave!!!

GE microwave won't turn off

Just checked the GE website. Had the same problem with my 5 year old microwave. GE website says to close and open the door quickly three times. First time I did this it didn't work. Second time I closed the door with some significant force and reopened it more quickly. Worked. Unplugged the microwave, plugged it back in, still fine.

GE JE1640GA does not heat, the control is working but when you put the time and start its not working.

The latch on the door of my microwave did not make a connection with the sensor inside.  The GE mechanic fixed this problem by slightly pushing the door upwards (with simple manual force).  That's it. It works fine now.
