Open Question

Kenwood CS-5370 100 MHz Oscilloscope channel "1" out of order.

I bought an used KENWOOD CS-5370 Oscilloscope and it seems channel "2" is working but channel "1" is out of order. When apply any signal to channel "1" its screen's trace simply disappears, it only returns when selecting channel "1" GROUNDED or switched to GND, what is the problem??? I need the Service manual to check the Channel "1" input and its circuitry, who help me?

SOURCE: 2 problems, what are the

You can use the head unit with no remote - that's just an accessory. As for the wires, the red is switched power (this gets wired in so that it only has power when the key is on - when the key is off, it turns off the radio). The yellow is constant 12v power (to maintain power to the head unit so that memory settings, treble/bass settings, and the clock are maintained when the vehicle is shut off).

SOURCE: Powering 4 6x9 speakers, need amp

Hi firstof all your deck isnt really putting out 52 watts x4 more like 17-22w rmsx4 ,companies like to throw out some crazy numbers it seems. If your into Kenwood try out a KAC-8404 4-channel on the mids/highs that will put 50 w x4 rms at 4 ohms or if you wanna go a lil louder try the kenwood x600f that will throw 100w rms on each 6x9 at 4 ohms no problem. My system is very similar to yours but running 4 pioneer 5x7's in all the doors and powering it with the 8404 its loud and clean ,fan cooled and no problems at all. My subs are a pair of 15's soundstream t-4's powered by an Alphasonik pma2500a its throwing 800w rms on each sub running in stereo at 2 ohms.It can drown out the mids if i set it that way but my mids /highs cant take as much power as your kenwoods can or else id step up to the x600f too.

Disconnect the input to the amp on the humming channel. If the hum still exists then there is probably a bias problem in the out put section. Check to see if there is a DC voltage on the speaker with no signal applied.

I need to know what replacement antenna to get for my tk-3130

I found the manuals at:
http://www.hitechwireless.com/products/Kenwood-TK%252d3130-ProTalk-XLS.html

This radio is a UHF radio but it doesn't saw on the site what the frequencies are or the type of antenna connection, BNC, SMA, ?
The manual shows 464.5 MHz to 467.925 MHz so an antenna for 464 - 468 MHz would do.

Manual also at: http://kenwoodusa.com/
Contact form at: http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Contact/
See if they have a replacement antenna for you.

How do I set my comcast cable remote to the Kenwood cs 5.1 receiver?

These codes may work:

Depending on the comcast model remote you have: Some require the full 5 digit code while others only use the last four digits.

Codes for Kenwood receivers:

31313 31571 30027 31007

Most Direct, Comcast and COX remotes use the same basic codes either with or without the first digit which is always a 0,1, 2, or 3. (0 for cable boxes, 1 for TVs, 2 for DVDs, 3 for audio amps and receivers)

Hope this helps.

The only way to troubleshoot this effectively is to use an oscilloscope to signal trace. You can't tell much about electronic components unless they have external damage which often doesn't show.

Elio:
Your local Kenwood rep is correct for a couple of reasons:

1. The cost to modify your current radios to operate on the Italian band would be higher than the price of new radios.

2. Operating modified radios would be a violation of Italian laws.

Radio

Hello george_nutti,

The model number you posted is for a center channel speaker which has no controls, and not knowing the exact model number it's difficult to be specific.

Some Kenwood KDC models allow you to select one of 3 "tuning modes", 1) AUTO1 - Automatic search for stations; 2) AUTO2 - Search Preset stations; 3) MANUAL - Normal manual tuning control. If your Kenwood is one of these models, you need to set the tuning mode to MANUAL. For Kenwood Excelon HD receivers, direct access tuning is done by using the included remote. 1) Press DIRECT button on the remote; 2) Press number buttons to enter desired channel number; 3) Press DIRECT button again to exit direct tuning.

Hope this helps.
