take the spark plug out and pull the engine over with the spark plug in the wire and ground the plug to the trimmer and see if it sparks. if not flip the switch the other way and see if it sparks then you shall know.

Shindaiwa eb802 hard to start

If it is not the fuel hose thats porous or bad tankairiation it will be also not the spark color red gaskets or ??? , remove the muffler and look at your piston side Look through the outlet port that it will have no grooves because you have lost compression on the piston by or a bad cooling to high rpm's and or bad fuel mix or (L + H) adjustment of the carburetor if there are grooves on the exhaust side
This is an little suggestion made by repair an other brand but it make no difference

Do you use 2 cycle or 4cycle oil for mix in shindawai blowers

Not knowing what model blower you have, I do know that Shindaiwa manufactured both two cycle and 4 cycle blowers. In either case, you run the required 50:1 ratio. I would also recommend using the Shindaiwa branded oil since it is formulated to run in their equipment at that ratio.

Other manufacturers have 4 stroke blowers on the market that run "straight" fuel because they have an oil sump for the engine oil, much like a 4 stroke lawnmower. However, that is not the case with Shindaiwa's 4 cycle design which still runs "mixed" fuel.

Craftsman weedeater wont start

The problem that I had with my craftsman was that I found that there was a tube in the fuel tank that goes to the carb, & at the other end - inside the tank, there was a small screen with maybe a weight on it (to keep it in the gas no matter what position the weedeater is in). Mine was plugged up and i went to the saw shop and got a generic hose & end with the screen deal & changed them out. Solved my problem. Rick
