If the E1 error occurs after the belt starts to move for several seconds, the error code means that the system is not picking up the speed of the motor. This pickup comes from a magnet mounted on the front roller pulley and a speed sensor, or a problem with the magnet.Feb 29, 2016
Check the rear endcaps for damage. If they are OK, find the allen key that came with the treadmill (you used it to assemble the machine) and go to the back of the machine. If the belt is rubbing, find the left adjustment bolt and turn the screw 1/2 turn clockwise. Now, by hand move the belt a couple revolutions. If it still rubs, repeat the procedure till the belt stops rubbing. Now run the treadmill about 3MPH and fine adjust the belt by turning the screw 1/4 turn until straight. If the belt is not rubbing, run the machine (3MPH) and adjust the left bolt clockwise 1/8 - 1/4 turn watching closely till the belt is centered.
When you purchased the treadmill it came with an allen wrench to assemble the machine. That is the adjustment tool. Inspect the rear plastic cap (the adjustment bolts are there) make sure it is not damaged. If the plastic is broken, it will need to be replaced. This job is not easy. If it is not broken, adjust the belt as follows.. If the belt is already rubbing, locate the adjustment screw at the back of the treadmill on the side that is rubbing.Adjust that screw tuning it 1/2 turn clockwise. Move the belt manually 3 full rotations.. If it is still rubbing, turn another 1/4 turn. Again move the belt manually 3 rotations. Once the rubbing stops, run the machine slowly and watch the belt from the back of the machine..
check to see that the speed sensor did not move with the actual relocation of the machine. You may also need to recalibrate the machine so that it can figure out its own speed settings. With the incline not working also that can lead to a bad motor controller and these can go bad with too much moving of a machine - any bumps in the road can cause the electronics to short out if it has been previously used - grounding electricity out of components prior to moving prevents this from happening so that the stored electricity does not discharge with bumps in the road
if you hear the motor moving with no belt turning the problem is either the front roller or the drive belt. If there is no motor movement then this is usually an indication of a bad control board located under the lower section of the treadmill.
Make sure treadmill is running when you adjust belt. The treadmill belt tracks as the belt goes around. I usually put machine on 2-2.5 if belt is not rubbing instantly. If belt is already against plastic, turn adj. counterclockwise on the opposite side about one full turn. You can usually move belt with your foot to see if it aligns any with turning on the treadmill. Once belt is not rubbing, turn treadmill on and continue alighing the belt.
