Make sure you have installed the software drivers first before connecting the USB hard drive. USB is Plug and Play, and when you connect hardware that requires drivers to be installed first, it will not function correctly or not work at all sometimes..

My computer doesnt recognize Fantom Drive titanium II. i am having windows 7 installed in my system. please help how to solve this problem

Dose it show up as drive letter E:/ under device manager in disk drives?(Check out:right clicking my computer icon on your desktop, select disk manager)
If so,try right clicking on my computer and selecting map network drive.(You'll get the same results by right clicking on network neighborhood icon on your desktop and selecting map network drive.)This is the method many people use to assign a drive name (i.e.,letter) to a drive. Then you can recover data from hard drive with data recovery software like Tenorshare Data Recovery. It can recover data after deeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data. You can get it here: http://www.any-data-recovery.com/product/datarecoveryprofessional.htm

My toshiba satellite pro l300 tells me their is no hard drive

This means the hard diskhas failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty. First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If this does not work then reboot and go to theBIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn'tdetect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to determine if thehard drive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an external hard drive and you cannot open the various folders and files, this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

I have a Fantom Drive TFD250U8 external drive. I am running xp professional with sp2 on it. Computer is brand new from work. I cannot detect the external drive

First thing, check to see if the connection are properly connected, and the drive is turned on. You rexternal hard drive should be able to work with windows Xp and up. If all connection is made, and other device can be connected via usb and not your drive then it your external drive that has malfuction. Try testing it on another computer to make sure, but at this point I believe your external drive is dead and malfuction. even though external drive enclosure still work if you see a power light coming from it, your hard drive disk inside it is damaged, and will need replacement. If you have important data saved to your fantom drive, you can maybe recover the files by sending it to bestbuy, office depot to see if they can recover the files, The fee upon that will vary on how much data is recovered.

If it still has a valid warranty, exercise the warranty to get a free replacement.

Otherwise, open the enclosure, and separate the disk-drive from the USB-to-disk-drive adapter, and connect the disk-drive as a 'slave' disk-drive in a desktop computer, to see if the adapter was the problem.

you shouldn't have to click on it. some how someone messed up the programing part. should automatically start the menu. go to firefox on your browser, they got an update, firefox 3, download to your stick. that should do it, worked for me.

Problem with usb

It seems like your USB drive is not detected by the computer. Try inserting it on a different USB port. You will see another drive letter like F: or G (removable drive) when you USB drive is detected.
