I have a Cannon EOS Rebel xsi SLR camera. When I look through the viewfinder the image is blurred. IT worked fine the last time I used it, but this time it is blurred and I haven;t been able to correct...

Two possible situations. It might be that the lens focusing system isn't working. Try focusing by hand (turn the lens manually) If the image moves through a point of sharp focus, then you have a lens or focus motor problem.
More likely, you have improperly adjusted the diopter. There is a small, circular wheel on the right side of the viewfinder, toward the top corner. It is sometimes covered by the rubber viewfinder hood so you might not notice it. This adjusts the diopter correction in the viewfinder and if it's set wrong, nothing will ever look in focus. The pictures would be fine, but since the diopter is a correction for your eyesight, the viewfinder will be out of focus.

Photos are blurred.

Blurred images are caused by several reasons: motion due to camera shake, use of slow shutter speeds and failure of the camera to focus correctly.

Slow shutter speeds

When light is low, wide apertures and slow shutter speeds will be selected automatically by the camera. Most people can't take blur-free, hand-held shots when the shutter speed is under 1/60th of a second.

Cameras that have optical Image Stabilization help but even IS has its limits. Increase room lighting, increase the ISO setting or use a tripod, or use a combination of all three.

Blurred images or misfocus

If an image is blurred due to camera shake, the blur will appear throughout the entire image. If parts of an image are in focus, and others are not, you've misfocused.

I have a Mitsubishi RPTV. Everything looks fine except for the blue colors look blurred. I have tried software convergence but the blue still looks blurred and strange. What can I do?

ADJUST THE ELECTRICAL FOCUS. AND THERE IS A MECHANICAL FOCUS ALSO. SET THE ELECTRICAL FOCUS BY LOOKING DIRECTLY INTO THE TUBE AND ADJUST IT SO THE TUBE SURFACE IMAGE IS SHARPEST. THEN LOOKING AT THE REAR OF THE SCREEN ADJUST THE MECHANICAL FOCUS, ON THE LENS UNTIL IT IS SHARPEST. ALSO IT MIGHT NEED A CLEANING OF LENS&MIRROR. DIRT AFFECTS BLUE LIGHT FIRST.

What is the solution

You are dealing with "depth of field", or simply put (?), the range from near to far of an image that appears in focus. To increase the depth of focus, the camera must be set to a smaller aperture (higher numbered). Using a wider angle lens helps also. Focusing on the mid-point (near to far range) will also increase the apparent focus range. This is one of the most complicated photographic issues, and much has been written about it. Google "depth of field" for about 4 million explanations.

Nikon D40 will not focus

on the right side of the view finder there is a little bar. Make sure it is all the way down. If it is in the up position then it will make the viewfinder, shouldn't make the images blurry though. Also make sure it is in AF not MF (auto focus and manual focus).

Apitek 1.3 Images are blur at faces

Sounds like an autofocus issue. Either the camera is malfunctioning, or it just may be seeing something else it thinks it should be focusing on. Pictures thru glass often focus on the glass even tho we look thru it, watch for reflecions. Anything between you and the person may throw the focus off, like taking a picture of someone thruogh a doorway. If the face is off to the side the camera may be focusing on the center. If your camera has a two-click snap button, try holding only the first click and see what it focuses on.

Why are my flash images out of focus?

This could be due to any of the following reasons. 1) A dirty lens can cause whitish blurring of an image. 2) Light from the flash reflected back from the subject can cause blurring and a feeling that the image is out of focus. 3) In total darkness when AF measurements are impossible, the camera focuses for about 2 meters. Subjects that are closer or further will be out of focus. The Auto Focus Frame is red when AF measurements are impossible. In this case, use manual focus (MF).
