Hi. I have a PSR i425 and the auto accompaniment function is not working on it. The screen shows that the function is on. but its not working.. Can you help?

I cannot find a service manual but maybe worth trying the following:

Volume for auto accompaniment is turned down or muted

Try turning the instrument on whilst holding down the top / highest white key - this will initiate a factory reset.

If problem persists contact your local Yamaha service centre.

Yamaha psr 1000

I'm not sure I completely understand your problem sounds like you might be in "Fingered On Bass" mode. This means if you play a chord like F using the notes FAC- if you play them in 2nd inversion (so the order is CFA) the psr-1000 will make the note "C" the bass note. In this mode if you played ACF then "A" would be in the bass part. Change to "Fingered Chord"-this will enable you to play any chord with the tonic (the name of the chord) F whether you play FAC, ACF or CFA in the bass part. I don't have access to a psr-1000 but often with Yamaha instruments this can be changed by pressing and holding the "Auto Accompaniment" button. I hope this helps.

Power comes on but the psr 9000 yamaha does not boot up past the first page

The unit probably is detecting an error during the power on test... A long shot MIGHT be a button or key that is stuck on, that is sensed as being pressed. See if all the buttons are completly up. If the unit has a harddrive, a failure of it can block the booting even though the operating software is not on the drive in these. If you find a button that is sticking, put a tiney bit of CRC226 around it with a Q tip. You can get the CRC226 in the electrical dept of Home Depot. You just want to wipe the edges of the button to lube it a bit.
