"Base System Device" is your card reader, I had the same problem. If you dont use it jst disable the device, otherwise the drivers should be on your alienware Master CD, if not get a tech support guy to send 'em to you.

Hi,

Have tried installing the CHIPSET Driver for the Motherboard?

Check the device manager for any bang on the devices meaning either a driver is missing or a wrong or incorrect driver is possibly installed, unless a REX "x" is foung beside USB hub then that would mean that is it busted or damaged.

but it is unlikely to have a USB hub/port to be busted unless physically, install the chipset driver and check again make sure you restart the system after installing the CHIPSET driver to make sure that it is properly installed in Windows and that it will detect the USB ports in device manager.

Windows did not start. some critical problem to system or some driver is missing.

try to start it in safemode and check for any missing or problematic driver
when pc/laptop starts press F8 immediately
now hit on start windows in SAFE MODE

go to device manager and uninstall any problematic driver and reinstall the suitable driver
and then restart the pc

I just installed windows 7 on my toshiba satellite L100 laptop and the sound driver went missing

what i would suggest is ... go to the device manager and find the audio devices listen there and right click on them one by one and uninstall it and than close it and restart the system ... once the system is up it will detect the drivers again and install it ... that should work out ... this is a basic issue with windows 7

I recently formatted my computer and installed all the necessary drivers and such. It's just basic stuff as I'm no computer expert. However, when I got to the Device Manager to see if anything was missing,...

The "default" video-driver in Windows gives "basic" support, e.g., 800-by-600 at 256 colours.
Get a better device-driver, for higher resolutions, and 32-bit colours.

Is the computer's video-adapter "integrated" into the motherboard,
or is it a separate add-in video-card?

If the former, access the motherboard manufacturer's web-site, and search for a device-driver.

If the latter, access the web-site of the manufacturer of the video-card, and download a device-driver.

Install it.

Wireless internet is not working

Did you use the Restore Disk you got with this Laptop? Also did you select the Option to install the required software for the Wireless system. Also many compaies send a seperate disk for the drivers and a lot of them have very simple Wizards to follow.

Please let me know.

have you tried going into your master volume contro properties and turned everything up there. If you double click on your volume control near the time and go to properties you'll find all the controls there. Let me know if that works for you.
