Correct hookup from satilite receiver to dvd/vcr to tv

Av out from sat to AV1 on TV.
AV2 from tv to av in on dvd/vcr .
( if you can pick what av2 on the tv sends out set to send av1 out to record)
OR
AVout from sat. to AV1 on TV, AVvideo on sat to vcr/dvd.
The sat. system will act as a "play through" device so you can play vcr/dvd without changing the AV on the TV.
If you connect another lead in either option you may get a feedback loop causing audio "squeak" and video problems.
Post back to let me know if this helps.

wow, that sounds like either the inputs are mixed in the rear . or there is 2 types of inputs av style or F connector style
av: is the audio/video cables (yellow-red/white)
F- connector: rg-6 cable or rg-59 (old school) and either one that you choose thats the way to record.
