Replacing the brushroll and belt usually takes care of it unless the motor is bad. Remove the belt tensioner. Only a few models had it and Dyson determined it isn't needed.

Sounds like your belt may have broken, or you have something jammed in there preventing the brush roller to spin. But most likely you're problem is a broken belt which is a simple fix that takes no time to fix
Call Dyson. if its the belt they will send you a new one. If it was purchased in the past 2 years, it has a 5 year warrenty, and they will fix it for you, but call them first!
