Question about Computers & Internet

2 Answers

Internet problem I use to be able to go on the internet, using IE with no problems. Now, whenever I try to get online with it, it just doesn't work. I tried troubleshooting it, it said there was no problem with the internet access. I can still go on MSN Live messenger though it works sluggishly. Also, to clarifiy, when I turn my computer on, IE works for about five minutes, sometimes less, before it stops. I tried everything that was suggested in the help section of my computer, and still nothing. I am using vista, and have a VAIO NS series Notebook. I'm at the end of my rope here, and almost willing to throw the thing out the window. Please help me!

I'm using a wireless connection, the wired one doesn't work because the thing inside keep being bent out of shape.

Also, I'll try this as soon as I get home.

Something else I forgot to add.

When I checked the Network Status Activity it was sending a lot more bytes (by the millions) compared to receiving very little (under 50, 000)

    1. I would try rebooting your PC (if you haven't already done that). And try using another browser to see if it's your internet or IE. Then I would try plugging it directly into your cable modem to make sure your wireless router isn't the problem. Also try power cycling (unplugging , waiting 20 seconds, and plugging back in) the router and the cable modem.

I've already tried that, so many times :(
The router works though, there are two more laptops connected to it which work just fine, both of them are further away from it than my own.

What kind of internet connection are you using? Wired or wireless? Dialup, DSL, or Broadband?

Open IE >Click Tools>Click Manage add-ons>Locate and disable Adobe flash player>Close IE and reopen it and see if you still have the problem,If not, just uninstall Adobe Flash player and download and install an older version from here. Just choose version 8 or version 9 Mine works best with version 9 but your might work best with version 8,

If you still have the problem after uninstalling adobe and reinstalling the older version,Please post back.

Please rate this a fixya

If MSN is working it would seem like the connection is still on, so maybe try disabling your security software and trying another browser (firefox, opera, google chrome, etc.)

Internet explorer has encountered a problem get

This happens from time to time and is normally nothing to worry about. Run Disc Cleanup and remove all it finds. This will reset the cache in IE and may solve the problem.

I can't get online with Internet Explorer

What version of IE are you using? Can you connect online with another browser like Firefox but not with IE? Are you getting any error messages that would help us to diagnose the cause? Does internet explorer start and open a window, but report that you cannot connect?
Please see this troubleshooter for IE issues, though you will have to access it from another internet connected computer. This article may also prove helpful.
You could try resetting the IE to default settings by going to Tools>Internet OPtions>Advanced and reset IE settings to default. That will often clear up a configuration issue. Here are instructions to do so.
These issues could be related instead to your security software or a malware issue with your system. I recommend you follow this malware removal guide if you suspect the latter. There are some infections prevalent that will block your internet access to certain sites, and must be removed before IE will work correctly again.
Without more specific information about your problem, I'm afraid that's the best advise I can offer you. I hope something there helps.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Constantly encountering an error and needs to close

I think, its some Add-on which is creating this problem in IE.

Please check the Add-ons in the Tools "Manage Add-Ons" Menu and try Enable / Disable for the Add-on which you think is not required for your IE.

Wireless Internet causes blue screen of death

-- "limited conn.."-- you should configure the internet connection in the router's software ie or any other IP for the router, use ISP help desk for this (if it's free).

Blue screens have numbers and sometimes explanations, usually they pop up because of incompatible driver, chek router software(driver) compatibility.

explanation of blue screens are in the following link:
