Motor turns but chain does not rotate

Ok, so if the clutch is turning and everything with the engine is functioning properly, then it can only be the chain or the chainsaw sprocket. Have you replaced the chain just recently? I'm only asking because even though it may be the right length, there are chains that have different sized drive links. Very seldom do the sprockets wear, but I have seen alot of times where someone buys a new chain and the drive links are either too big to sit properly into the sprocket or they're too small...

Obviously your chain brake is off correct?....

I have replaced the chain on my b/d chainsaw gk1630t and now the chain will not rotate.I have followed the instructions carefully and the sprocket is turning but when I put the cover back on the chain...

You have either over tightened your chain or you have not placed the bar onto it's proper position against the motor. Take apart again and check one more time . One other thing ,if when you remove the cover, look down the bar as if you were looking down a 2x4. If it's not in line with the gear that rotates the chain, then you have installed the bar incorrectly.GOOD LUCK.

Ovne do not turne withe rack in side the ovne

Does the rack raise? Are you hearing a buzzing every second? You could have a bad rotation motor, or the drive chain could have just fallen off. Both of these repairs aren't terribly difficult but are extremely annoying. It might be a best use of your time and resources to call an authorized service provider and have them repair the issue.
If you're feeling ambitious the first thing you want to do is verify that your rotation motor is still functioning and that the gearbox is not stripped out. Make sure the supply power to the oven is off, climb up on top of the oven and remove the covers over the lift and rotation assembly if they are not already removed. You should see a black cylindrical motor with a plastic fan blade on the top, this is your rotation motor. Spin the fan blade with your finger while looking at the motor shaft, it should be rotating, if it is not you need a new motor. To change your rotation motor you will need a 5/16" ratcheting box wrench and it can be a nightmare the first time you change one. Unwire the motor, pay attention to which wires you disconnected. Remove the four screws underneath the motor and slide the motor straight up through the hole. Change the chain sprocket over to your new motor and reverse the steps.

If your motor IS rotating when you spin the fan then your chain may have slipped off. Loosen the four screws holding the rotation motor in place so you can slide it back and forth. Lift up on the shaft and place a screw driver in between the metal disc above the big sprocket to keep the weight off of the sprocket. Put the chain on the small sprocket first and then slowly work the chain onto the large sprocket. Once the chain is on lower the shaft back down and tighten the motor back up. Hopefully your rack should start rotating again, if it doesn't the gears in the gearbox could still be stripped causing it to slip, in which case you should call an authorized service provider to service the oven, or see above.

My new Remington Branch Wizard was taken from the box today and, the chain installed, hooked up, motor runs fine, but the chain won't turn. What's wrong with it?

Take it back. Remington Power is no longer in production anyway. You will eventually need parts that you will not be able to find.

Is the chain excessively tight? Remove the Sprocket cover, bar and chain. Actuate the switch momentarily while watching the sprocket gear (item 11).
Did it rotate? If no there is likely a failure in the gear train inside the power head (not repairable). If it rotates I suspect the chain was improperly installed or over tightened.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. Thank you for using FixYa and Good Luck. HTH

The chain is stuck on chain saw. I can't loosen it, it will not rotate when motor is on and the motor will not turn over the blade is stuck

Try taking the chain guide off, so you can remove
the chain. This will free the stucked up chain.
Replace the chain guide, and the chain. Hope this will solve your problem.

2001 alero new timing chain and coils

Hi Angiebaby,

You will have to aligne the crankshaft at TDC =top dead center i.e the piston on # 1 should be on top and the # 4 too i.e.if its a 4 cylinder engine.
If the camshaft doesnt fully turn ...i.e. rotating 360 degrees.. then its the pistons which is obstructing the rotate the crankshat and keep the pistons say half way thn bring the camshaft to its mark ..once done thn you can set the crankshaft to TDC.
you should be ok here !! GOOD-LUCK

Fly wheel seemds locked up on Husqvarna 445

the flywheel does not have a brake, the clutch side has the break.if you have the chain side cover off the brake is no longer on the clutch drum.the fly wheel is on the oppiset side (starter rewind).take the starter rewind off and see if the motor will turn.if hte motor turns the problem is in the clutch side.if it doesn't the problem is in the flywheel side.the ignition coil has been known to loosen up.the screws streitch out from heat.check the air gap between the flywheel magnets and the ignition coil.should be .10 to .12 inches.if problem is on clutch side check to make sure that the springs are on between the clutch discs.they have been known to break and that does not let the chain spin on bar.any questions get me an e mail

you need a new chain & most likely sprockets. Motorcycle chains don't stretch evenly.
