Maytag Neptune MAH4000AWW - pump removal?

Hi... I think my drain pump is bad or something is stuck in it. It could also be something stuck in the inlet hose. My problem is that I can't figure out how to get the hose/pump out without water going all over the controls. I also can't figure out how to detach the pump from the housing in order to examine it. Any pointers? I already have access through the front panel and rear access panel.

That's the plan... To take the hose off first and check it and then move on to the tub. Question being, how do I get the hose off without getting water everywhere? I don't want the computer board and other stuff to get wet.

Simply disconnect both hoses and twist the pump to the left to remove. There are two round nubs at the bottom of the white plastic pump housing. These fit into curved slits in the floor of the machine. The slits have a round opening at one end that the nubs can slide in & out of. But check your drainage hose first! I struggled to remove my pump before taking my hose to the bathtub to give it a good rinse. I didn't find anything in the pump but lots of crud in the hose. I'm waiting for everything to dry before I turn it on and see if I fixed it.

I found a screw stuck in mine once. Went to all the trouble to take it out and all apart like you're wanting to do. Then I figured out that if I had just took the flexible line off that feeds it from the tub, I could have pulled the screw out with a magnet. Whatever is in yours may be accessible the same way. If the object is non-magnetic you might use a forcreps or needlenose pliers.

If you lower the drain hose it should siphon the water from the tub. If it won't flow, there may be a sock in the pump. If that is the case, backflushing from the drain hose, (with garden hose) may dislodge so it will drain.

Maytag front load washer model #MAH4000AWW. Just happened! Water fills then nothing. Wife says it "seems" like it wants to do something but doesn't

Hi

First make sure that nothing is blocking the drain pump assembly located inside the bottom of the unit, after this test the door lock-switch assembly. If the door lock-switch is also fine then the control board should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

I HAVE A MAYTAG NEPTUNE WASHER, MODEL NO. MAH4000AWW. WASHER WILL NOT SPIN OUT. WATER STAYS IN TUB. I DON'T KNOW WHICH PART NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED, COULD IT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE CONTROL BOARD?

It is the drain pump and motor assembly that does not remove the water from the tub. Althought it spins, water is not sucked out of the tub. Try replacing the drain pump and motor assembly. Part no. 22003059.

I did and my washer works well now.
