Question about Maytag Neptune Washer
Hi... I think my drain pump is bad or something is stuck in it. It could also be something stuck in the inlet hose. My problem is that I can't figure out how to get the hose/pump out without water going all over the controls. I also can't figure out how to detach the pump from the housing in order to examine it. Any pointers? I already have access through the front panel and rear access panel.
Simply disconnect both hoses and twist the pump to the left to remove. There are two round nubs at the bottom of the white plastic pump housing. These fit into curved slits in the floor of the machine. The slits have a round opening at one end that the nubs can slide in & out of. But check your drainage hose first! I struggled to remove my pump before taking my hose to the bathtub to give it a good rinse. I didn't find anything in the pump but lots of crud in the hose. I'm waiting for everything to dry before I turn it on and see if I fixed it.

I found a screw stuck in mine once. Went to all the trouble to take it out and all apart like you're wanting to do. Then I figured out that if I had just took the flexible line off that feeds it from the tub, I could have pulled the screw out with a magnet. Whatever is in yours may be accessible the same way. If the object is non-magnetic you might use a forcreps or needlenose pliers.

Tips for a great answer:
Feb 14, 2013 | Maytag Neptune MAH5500B Front Load Washer
make sure that nothing is blocking the drain pump assembly located inside the
bottom of the unit, after this test the door lock-switch assembly. If the door
lock-switch is also fine then the control board should be replaced. Hope this
helps...please post back for further assistance.
