I just did this yesterday with my Kenwood MP8017 and an old Dell Pocket DJ. The deck uses a 15pin DIN connector. I had the connector and just used trial-and-error to determine the left, right channels and ground.
For your setup, you need to first determine what sort of inputs that the Sony unit has. Most have some sort if DIN input. If there is an AUX input, you are good to go as it is simply GND, Left and Right Channels. Then use this to deterime the signal pinouts from the IPOD cable.
You will have to hack up an IPOD docking cable (you can get them cheap here.). and get an 3.5 mm jack to cut up as well.
If your deck uses a DIN connector, you will have to source one of those and determine its pinout. Then, just match it with the IPOD connector and you are good.

You can download a copy of the manual from Sony here. It's only a 2 page PDF document and figure 3 shows the wiring color codes and wiring diagram.
Hope this helps.
