Distilled white vinegar. The acid in it will also neutralize the ammonia in the cat byproducts and won't make things sticky. Apple cider vinegar still contains sugar and other impurities like pectin that can leave a residue. Distilled white vinegar really isn't vinegar at all. It is actually grain ethanol that has been converted by a special bacteria into acetic acid, which makes vinegar sour, then it is diluted to 5% acidity like A.C. vinegar but without all of the residue that can attract dirt and dust to your furniture. Good luck.
hi Jeff.
not saying this will work, but its all i could find on the internet. Sprinkle baking soda on the surface being cleaned (as long as it is safe to do so). Scrub with a sponge or plastic brush to work in the baking soda. Rinse with clean water and the vinegar smell should disappear.24 Dec 2009

i had what sounds like a similar problem. i complained of our laundry smelling sour then finally like sour sewage and a flooded laundry room. i was told that when its not draining properly, it can create a siphon-effect and actually pull the dirty water back out of the drain lines-yuk! i hope this isnt true.
there was a baby sock stuck in the pump preventing it from draining properly. hope your problem can be remedied as easily.

That is comon with LG.

Than take an OLD towel.
Wash with chlorox first a hot load. After that do the same but than with vinegar and that should take care of the SOUR problem
I have an LG too.
My friend told me of someone who researched this problem, and it is because we are using liquid detergent. Switch to a granular high efficiency detergent. Before you start using it, you must run through a mixture of about one cup Clorox and two cups vinegar through the washer, using the Sanitary setting. I am actually on-line now trying to research the exact proportions of Clorox and vinegar when I ran across your problem.
