Unfortunetly there is not a fix for that. The normal cause is a bad battery, but since it is still doing it there is little that can be done.

Did anything in particular happen to the phone before the problem started ?

Thank you for choosing Fixya!

I have an Darlac Electronic water timer DW253 but haver mislaid the instructions, where can I download a set?

I cannot find a manual for the Darlac DW253.
It appears the timer is set by moving each selector knob.
http://www.watermate.co.uk/secure/uploads/DW253%20(Small)%20new%20darlac%20pop.jpg

Knob on right is Run Time:
This is how many minutes timer will run each time.
Set run time from 1 minute to 120 minutes.
Knob on right also has ON-OFF override.

Knob on left is Frequency:
This is how frequently the timer will turn ON. Once per hour, once per each 2 hours ... once per 24 hours ... once per 72 hour ... once per week.

So set frequency to 48 and set run time to 20, then every 48 hours the water will turn on for 20 minutes.
To turn timer off, move right knob to OFF.
For continuous watering, turn same knob to ON.

This timer is battery-powered, probably 9 Volt, but maybe AA.
Battery carriage appears to be located on front below the function knobs.
Typically, water timer batteries last one season.

Timer can be connected to household spigot, or connected to any passive water supply for example rain barrel or tank.
Appears to have standard female hose thread on top, or possibly 1/2 pipe thread, and quick connection on bottom.

Plastic water timer exposed to freezing temperatures can crack. Drain water out of timer during cold weather.
Generally if water timer stops working: replace battery, clean battery terminals, and if functionality is not restored, then buy another timer.

Why do my clocks run fast when my Briggs & Stratton 15kw generator is running?

Electric clocks use synchronized motors that run on 60 Hz AC. The power company provides AC power with a precisely regulated frequency of 60 Hz. That means that the voltage jumps back and forth (positive to negative) 60 times per second. Your generator would do the same thing if it could run at precisely 3600 rpm (that's rev's per minute) - but it can't, because the engine is not that precisely controlled. In your case it tends to run (on average) a little fast. I hope you found this helpful. By the way, in Europe 50 Hz is the norm. If you run a clock designed for 50 Hz on 60 Hz power, it will run 20% too fast! Al K

Drill only attempting to drill, its only working for very short periods

If the unit is battery powered, the battery may be on it's last legs. Replacement of the battery pack is the usual fix, but there is a battery repair service available that can replace the individual cells for roughly the same price as a new replacement. Go to: www.primecell.com I have had very good luck with a Skill battery pack rebuild with lithium cells instead of the original NiCads. Seems like a much longer run-time per charge and it holds right up to the end for power. Hope this helps!

Battery runs out in less than 60 min, used to go for hours.

Hi. With batteries it is very important to recharge them after each use, overnight. I have seen batteries last 7 years in a mobility scooter, because the batteries were charged properly. Batteries store electrical energy by means of a cemical reaction, and if left in a discharged condition for too long, damage is done to the internal plates of the battery.
Batteries are designed to do so many charge cycles.
If a battery is run down to 75% or more, you will not get many cycles out of it. If you only run it down by 25%, you will get 100's of charge cycles out of it.
I would say that you will need to purchase new batteries for it.
When changing the batteries, change one completely first, and then the other. This way you will be less likely to mix up the wires.
Red is positive, and black is negative.
Good luck. Neil.

The battery is run down every time I come to use the camera. So it seems to bleed out power even when turned off. I have replaced the original battery and the new battery also runs out while sitting turned...

Hi,
This is not a common/generic problem for this camera, we need to be a bit more creative into it resolution.
I am assuming that you have already checked for accidental 'power on' of the camera prior to reporting it. By accidental power on, i mean that as this is one of those semi-pro dslr cameras you need to make sure that the power is turned off before you replace the lens cap as otherwise you can mistakingly leave the camera on while the covered lens will show nothing on the lcd/viewfinder display.
Check the time it takes for you to charge your battery. It should take a minimum of 5.5 hours to charge the battery fully. If the charging light on the charger turns off before then, continue charging for the next couple of hours. Try using the batteries again. Also, please note that temperature is very important both during usage and charging. As per Sony, the optimum charging temperature is 25 degrees C or 77 degrees F. In colder areas, battery power runs out extremely fast.

Reset the Roomba by removing it from the charger, then holding "spot" and "dock" for about twelve seconds. When you let go, the unit will play an ascending series of notes. Then recharge it overnight. If the run time is still short, give Customer Support a call-- be sure to have the Roomba with you when you do.
